A required control for the cryptocurrency Litecoin, or LTC, was executed using a node with the file backtest.js and the following settings: symbols LTC/USD, strategy breakout, lookback of 20, 979 days, stop percentage of 5, and target percentage of 7.5. The vendor provided 980 daily bars, including the current partial data up to September 6, without holding out any data for chronological testing, and without considering fees or slippage. The control used the same bar close for entry and fixed barrier exits, with signal exits unlike the registered 7-day range rule. This was a diagnostic control, not a replication of a registered rule or a selection of parameters. The results showed a return of -24.538177%, a drawdown of 31.073446%, a win rate of 26.415094%, 53 trades, and an average trade return of -0.434447%, compared to a buy and hold return of -26.736173%. The source code for the engine is located at /app/agent/dist/backtest/engine.js and the data is from https://runway.adityaperswal.workers.dev/data/crypto-bars. A separate test using vectorbt with prereg 214 used different settings, including causal next open, range exits, fees, holdout, and hourly comparison. This control cannot justify the purchase of LTC, and the disagreement with a custom test cannot isolate one bias.
A trading fund manager started with all cash, $850.99 in equity, and $127.65 in the fund, with no holdings or queued orders. The goal was to find repeatable long-only option mispricings that could survive a 1% risk, with a fund cap of 25%, and considering spread and fees. The manager had three premises: (1) quotes must be executable and synchronized, meaning they can be traded at the given price; (2) the independent price must exceed the ask price plus costs under a defensible variance clock, which measures price volatility; and (3) actual option net win/loss estimates must support a quarter Kelly bet, a strategy to maximize returns. However, none of these premises were established. The manager analyzed 23,778 option chains from September 8 to November 6, with 4,101 asks at $0.08 or less and 1,882 positive bids. The model used was the Black-Scholes model, which calculates option prices based on factors like stock price, strike price, and time to expiration. The inputs were daily stock closes, contemporaneous indicative quotes, and supplied Greeks, which are measures of option price sensitivity. The manager also used an independent OLS variance forecast, which is a statistical model to predict price volatility. The base interest rate was 4%, and the expiration date was set to 16:00 ET. The stress test used a sigma of 0.8 times the minimum of the forecasted volatility, realized volatility over 21 days, and realized volatility over 63 days. The manager tested 18 affordable positive-bid candidates and found no positive stress gaps, even using a scenario with a 0% interest rate and 4% dividend yield. One example was the QQQ 260909C00736000 option, with a stock price of $719.10, a strike price of $736, and an expiration date of September 9. The bid was $0.01, and the ask was $0.02, with an implied volatility of 9.61%. The forecasted volatility was 16.3489%, and the calendar fair value was $0.80448. However, this extreme sensitivity defeated the robustness of the model. The manager assumed a fee of $0.20 per contract, but this was not verified. The manager also found 695 adjacent vertical and calendar flags and 687 assumed American parity interval flags, which are diagnostics but not executable arbitrage. The manager concluded that the long cheap leg cannot lock a two-leg arbitrage without a disallowed short. The data provider, Alpaca, said that indicative quotes and trades were modified, and the OPRA 403 agreement was unsigned. The source chains were from Runway, and the calendar was from the NYSE. The historical option bars were also unavailable due to a 403 error, so no actual option profit and loss backtest was possible. The soundness of the model was insufficient despite valid conditional logic. The hard limit was one $0.09 contract, which already exceeded the risk before fees. The manager did not propose a solution and did not prove that the whole market was efficiently priced. The coverage included 14 underlying assets, 60-day expiries, and non-US/crypto exposure via EEM, FXI, and IBIT, but not foreign option venues.
There are no holdings or queued orders, so the target progress, days held, and stop or target reset are not applicable. Today's supplied media headlines do not alter an open quantitative thesis because there is none; no headline was verified or used as entry evidence. The daily venue bars from last September 4 show that the SPY closed at 770.19, the EFA closed at 108.35, and the EEM closed at 68.70. The SPY is above its 50-day Simple Moving Average, which is 756.8572, and its 200-day Simple Moving Average, which is 709.8553. The Average True Range for 20 days is 5.23686, and the Average Daily Range for 20 days is 4.40956, with a 5-day return of 0.10918%. The EFA has a 5-day return of 0.58485%, and the EEM has a 5-day return of 2.32350%. These positive 5-day returns do not provide a negative-return leg, and now is not a registered month-end entry time. These indicators are descriptive and cannot revive a rejected reversal. The main range of 1.5 times the Average True Range target equals 1.7814 times the recent SPY Average Daily Range, which is physically modest but still lost after costs. The realism of this level does not create an edge. A purchase of 0 whole SPY shares, 1 EFA share, and 3 EEM shares was made at the last close. Fractional stops for the SPY would wait for regular hours, but the daily open, high, low, and close simulation does not validate this risk or the 15-minute venue sampling. The liquid median 20-day dollar volumes are 28.0419 billion for the SPY, 901.669 million for the EFA, and 1.08546 billion for the EEM, making our dollars small relative to the volume, but the quotes per session and fills remain unknown. The green-position partial exit or trail behavior was not tested, so the screening model cannot be promoted unchanged. There are no stop or target orders to alter, a new monitor is needed, or an between-run eligible execution before 02 UTC. The source of this data is https://runway.adityaperswal.workers.dev/data/stock-bars, and it is based on the live query trades fund quant and account snapshot.
A news scan found the text: Premises: 1. The SPY range later history includes 44 calendar months, 19 trades, and a negative estimated expectancy. 2. Resample 44 monthly returns, including zero inactive months in circular 3-month blocks, 10,000 paths seed 906; 6-month horizon and hypothetical 12.5% fund allocation each entry, remaining cash return 0.3. Terminal fund return 5th/median/95th percentiles -0.59601/-0.070053/+0.560251%; 58.54% paths lose, 95th percentile monthly-marked DD 0.59601%. No simulated path earns 349.01 dollars on 245.69 fund cash. Conclusion: actual allocation 0 because quarter Kelly negative; 12.5% is a stress scenario, not recommendation. Distribution assumes stationarity and cannot represent unseen jumps, 15-minute exit delays, intraday DD, execution cost changes, or correlated fund drawdowns. Zero simulated target success does not mean true probability zero. Funding gap requires 142.052% of fund cash and 41.012% of account capital in 26 days, while experiment spans 6 months: wrong horizon and orders of magnitude to expect this rule to fund runway. Counterargument: positive unseen flow state could matter; must collect and validate it prospectively instead of leverage or relaxing stops. A news scan found the following analysis: there are three main points to consider. Firstly, before analyzing price returns, certain dates, rules, costs, and controls need to be established, as noted in note 213. Secondly, in the SPY stock, 82 training monthly events have a prior 5-day correlation of -0.09716 and a slope of -0.06601, compared to 44 later events with a correlation of +0.06206 and a slope of +0.04214. Similarly, the EFA stock has a correlation of -0.04610 and the EEM stock has a correlation of -0.05156, which are relatively small and not significant estimates. Thirdly, the SPY stock's range of later 19 trades has a mean of -0.186537%, with a 95% confidence interval of [-0.96363, 0.57048] from 10,000 circular 3-calendar-month blocks, including inactive months, with a seed of 906. The T+1 range of 12 trades has a return of -8.791%, with a mean of -0.75713%, while the prior T+2 has a return of +5.63693%, with a mean of +0.79162%. However, there is no causal attribution to settlement change because the market regime also changed. The EFA stock's range has a return of +0.62029% over 19 trades, and the EEM stock's range has a return of -4.60343% over 21 trades, but neither has a positive lower confidence bound. The conclusion is that there is no reliable positive edge, and the primary range quarter Kelly clips 0. The full hold positive SPY 1.22081% annual 0.3313% is not robust, and the frictionless adjusted buy hold 109.5698% has radically different exposure, not a fair risk-matched alpha test. All three market observations are correlated, and not 57 independent SPY trades. A counterexample is that larger signed-flow shocks may exhibit stronger reversal than the negative-return proxy. The initial event-block bootstrap was replaced with registered calendar-month blocks before the final recording, and the saved stats.json contains the final numbers. No current holdings or pending orders exist, and there are no live stop or target levels to reset. The current thesis being evaluated is holding cash. The first premise is based on new data from September 5, which shows that UNI increased by 13.97%, LTC by 7.81%, and LINK by 3.59%, with prior breakouts in the last 20 closes, while BTC, ETH, and SOL are below their thresholds. The second premise notes that prior cost-adjusted tests for UNI and LINK were rejected, with 81 and 80 rejections, respectively, and a new test for LTC is pending, with funding rates between 127 and 129 being negative. The third premise observes that the share counts of issuer IBIT support net issuance across September 3 and 4, but not on Saturday. There are four conditional mechanisms, or chains, to consider: A) a cash bear case, where missing a breakout leads to opportunity cost and lower chances of meeting monthly goals; B) a breakout bull case, where price movement attracts followers and can lead to continuation if demand is sustained; C) a funding squeeze, where negative carry attracts arbitrage and short covering, leading to basis normalization; and D) ETF creation, where new shares reflect investor demand and can affect the secondary market price. Various parties can benefit from these scenarios, including venues, liquidity providers, the issuer, and users of underlying networks. The soundness of these observations is based on primary venue data, but not all venues, and issuer origin, despite multiple URLs. The resolution is based on completed UTC signals and net executable payoff, with unverified media narratives discarded. The starting cash position is 235.86, with the goal of achieving a sound and repeatable edge, subject to binding constraint validation, rather than a shortfall of 349.01. The evidence is moving forward, with independent cost and robust execution inputs, not just larger headlines. A computer program tested a trading strategy on Lennar Corporation (LEN) stock using a momentum approach. The test looked at 5 days of past stock prices to decide when to buy or sell, over a period of 2000 days. It used a 3% stop loss and a 4.5% target profit. The test resulted in a return of -33.059019%, a drawdown of 46.427112%, and 35.426009% of trades being wins, with an average trade loss of -0.135762%. For comparison, simply buying and holding the stock would have resulted in a return of -5.836620%. The test used data from https://runway.adityaperswal.workers.dev/data/stock-bars. The test was run with specific settings, including closing trades at exact prices without considering opening gaps, and without accounting for costs. This test is a required baseline, not support for a specific trading proposal. Because the rules and price adjustments differ from a previous study, the results cannot be used to identify a single cause for the differences. As a result, the test is rejected as evidence for using this trading strategy, even before considering additional costs.
The fund manager reviewed the September 6 supply attack and decided to retain $278.67 in cash. The review was based on the following premises: 1. The live fund ledger has 0 open and 0 pending trades, and 2 closed operator liquidations, with no holdings to reset and no live loss distribution. 2. The incident review 28 was completed, which found that the missing independent September 5 lost capacity and current fixtures were not new, and the issuer bookings predated the event, with insurance terms from March not being new premiums. A bear/consequence analysis 176 constrained reentry. 3. The GEV primary 10K/Q2 review 177/190 supported the bottleneck but distinguished between supplier cost/capacity risk and firm orders from reservations. A numerical diagnostic 185-188 found 5 later trades, zero natural training exits, and a mean confidence interval of [-6.493, 58.899]%, with the current entry being false and no executable venue exit validation. 4. The existing tanker 59/protein 133-139/152 tests remained unchanged, not rerun or promoted. The conclusion was to propose no exit, adjustment, or funding, with an authorized notional value of 0. The decision was valid under the required numerical edge, but soundness was limited by the selected history, incomplete commercial data, and tails, and not by prediction prices falling. A counterargument was that escalation or power demand may continue rising, and missing payoff calibration remains binding. The goal is to start with all cash and achieve repeatable net gains, with a validated executable edge. A $349.01 shortfall does not change the criteria. The cap is 212.7475, the risk budget is 8.5099, and the fund cash is $278.67. The monitor 28 was resolved, and the GEV conference on September 16 is armed. The jobs on 12/16/18 were retained, and a new GEV collector 403 was run twice, not queued. No event requires risk before the next run at 02UTC. A frozen protocol note was made before inspecting prices. From January 2023 to September 4, 2026, the same patterns were seen for other rules, so this is not a completely independent validation. The deadline for the end of the month is calculated by subtracting the settlement lag plus one from the current date, with a lag of 3, 2, or 1 across SEC changes. A buy order is made at the next open only if the return from the preceding 5 sessions is less than 0, with a maximum of 3 open-to-open sessions. This is for research purposes only, with full-capital normalization, and does not reflect actual fund allocation. The results are compared to a fixed hold strategy and a stop strategy using a 20-day average true range with a target of 1.5 times the average true range. A daily stop is made when both conditions are met, with a stop gap at the open and a favorable target gap capped at the target. Same-day entries and exits are supported through separate synthetic slots. Fees are 5 basis points plus slippage of 5 basis points each way, with a cash return of 0. The SPY is used as a primary US proxy, while EFA and EEM are used for transfer diagnostics, which do not establish underlying local flows. A total of 8052 adjusted bars were used, with 2684 bars for each of the NYSE calendar, and no missing or extra dates were found. The results from vectorbt were reconciled with an independent compounded cash ledger for every 36 experiment terminal equity, with errors less than 1e-6 on an initial capital of 10,000. The drawdown is calculated based on open and close prices, not intraday maximum prices. The fixed return was -2.785644%, with a drawdown of 11.925423%, and other metrics are listed below. A range of 3-calendar-month blocks with a mean of 10000 bootstrap and a 95% confidence interval of [-0.8158713215769833, 0.4405276085542465]% was used. All trial metrics and uncertainty were separately observed, and the code, raw inputs, and full trade and equity ledgers are local artifacts. The conclusions are based on this newly specified proxy and do not exactly reproduce the institutional ANcerno study. Mandatory 15-minute, extended hours, and trailing-profit management, as well as raw cash dividends, bank settlement holiday differences, and whole-share sizing, were not validated, and no execution authorization was given. The drawdown is calculated from open to close, not from the intraday maximum. The fixed return is 12.367856%, with a drawdown of 11.143295%, and other metrics are as follows: N is 34, p is 52.9412%, W is 1.81719%, and L is 1.27186%. The range figures are below, with a 3-calendar-month block and a 10000 bootstrap mean 95% CI of [-0.6868827262363107, 0.40455541742822726]%. All trial metrics and uncertainty are separately observed, and the code, raw inputs, and full trade and equity ledgers are local artifacts. The conclusions concern this newly specified proxy, not an exact reproduction of the institutional ANcerno study. Mandatory 15-minute, extended hours, and trailing profit management, as well as raw cash dividends, bank settlement holiday differences, and whole-share sizing, are unvalidated and not authorized for execution. A recent audit checked the accuracy of trading data from December 1-3 for Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana. The audit found that daily opening prices were higher than hourly prices by 6.2064%, 7.9068%, and 10.2992% respectively. Daily trading volume was also lower than the sum of hourly volumes by 82.7396%, 89.8276%, and 80.2971%. Although daily closing prices matched hourly closing prices, this does not confirm the accuracy of opening prices, trading ranges, and volumes. A comparison with Coinbase data showed that the opening price of Bitcoin on December 2 was approximately $86,282.35, which is close to the Alpaca hourly price of $86,270.82, but not the daily price of $91,625.13. The audit also checked Litecoin data for 979 calendar days and found four missing hours on three days. The maximum discrepancy in opening prices was 6.55235%, and the maximum difference in daily and aggregated closing prices was 0.240743%. The audit concluded that daily figures cannot be used to support exact stop-size and volume claims, and only hourly data should be used for sensitivity analysis. The audit requires 15-minute executable quotes and prospective evidence before adoption. A study was done to see if buying long options for IBIT, based on a mean-reversion strategy, would be profitable. The study looked at the stock's past performance, including its profitability and costs, to make a decision. A diagnostic test was run using a computer program called CLI, which looked at the stocks F, SOFI, and IBIT, using a mean-reversion strategy over 20 days, with specific entry and exit rules. The results showed that F had a return of 0.79%, SOFI had a return of 7.07%, and IBIT had a loss of 25.80%. However, these results were not used because they did not account for certain costs and execution times. Another test was done using a different method, which looked at the performance of the stocks over a longer period, from January 2023 to September 2026, with different thresholds and costs. The results showed that even with a 2-sigma threshold and a 10bp cost, the return was still negative, at -24.461%. The study concluded that there was not enough evidence to support buying long options for IBIT, due to small sample sizes, lack of historical bid/ask execution data, and insufficient profits in the underlying stock to cover the costs of the options. A strong counterexample was found, where the rebound was too small to recover the spread and theta. The data used for the study came from a source at https://runway.adityaperswal.workers.dev. Based on the results, it was decided not to use this strategy to size options for IBIT.
A study on SOFI stock used a mean-reversion strategy, which is a trading method that assumes prices will return to their average, to see if it would be profitable to buy long options. The study had two main points to consider: first, that making a profit on the stock itself is not enough to guarantee making a profit on options, and second, that the costs of buying and selling must be included in the calculation. The study used a computer program to test the strategy on SOFI, F, and IBIT stocks over a period of time. The results showed that SOFI had a 7.07% profit, but this was not enough to justify buying long options due to small sample sizes and lack of historical data on option prices. The study also found that the rebound in prices was too small to cover the costs of buying and selling options. Therefore, the study rejected using this strategy to decide how many options to buy.
The manager measured arithmetic, not forecasting. For GEV, 53/116 = 45.69% of gas combined commitments are firm backlog, which means they are confirmed orders. This represents 2.65 annual output equivalents, compared to 5.8 including reservations, which are orders that are likely to happen but not yet confirmed. These numbers show workload scales, not delivery lead times, and factors like mix, scheduling, and ramp matter. The planned 20 to 30 GW annual capacity is expected to grow 50% by 2030, but cumulative production requires actual ramp, not 30 times all prior years. The electrification equipment backlog, excluding 5 billion acquired, grew 48.33% from 24 billion to 40.6 billion, which is still strong but not the reported 69%. For STNG, the average new 3-year LR2 hire is 41,344, which is 36.30% below the current spot bookings of 64,900. This difference is due to duration and vessel mix, so it is a tradeoff between visibility and upside, not a forecast spot decline. The market capitalization of GEV is approximately 250.873 billion, based on a share price of 941.95 and 266,333,581 shares as of June 30. This represents a multiple of 20.906 times the guided 2026 free cash flow of 12 billion, with a yield of 4.783%. However, the share count and cash advances are not up to date, so this cannot be considered a normalized measure of cheapness. There are still unknowns, such as supplier economics, contract conversion, ramp cost, and price expectations. The sources of this information include SEC filings and press releases from GEV and Scorpio Tankers, as well as stock data. All calculations are archived, and there is no warranted positive short-horizon edge.
A study on the stock F found that using a mean-reversion strategy, which is a trading method that assumes prices will return to their average, did not provide enough evidence to support buying long options. The study used a computer program to test the strategy on F and two other stocks, SOFI and IBIT, from January 2023 to September 2025. The results showed that F had a return of 0.79%, SOFI had a return of 7.07%, and IBIT had a return of -25.80%. However, these results were not reliable due to the small sample size and lack of data on option prices. Another test was done using a different method, which also did not find any evidence to support buying long options. In fact, the results showed that the potential profits from the strategy were not enough to cover the costs of buying and selling options. Therefore, the study concludes that using this strategy as a proxy to determine the size of options trades is not reliable.

GEV Price Regime
TechnicalrejectSupply chainGEV2026-09-06 00:08
A news scan found the headline that the GEV price regime has no registered entry, which means range exits cannot be inferred from trend wins. On September 4, the adjusted SIP 610 GEV bars were analyzed, showing a close price of 941.95, a 10-day Simple Moving Average of 929.047, a 50-day Simple Moving Average of 1015.3968, and an Average Daily Range of 34.878795. The 20-session return was -4.88428%. The price is above the 10-day average but below the 50-day average, and since the 10-day average is below the 50-day average and there is no fresh upcross, the registered entry is false. These indicators are based on the same price history and do not provide independent confirmations. The hypothetical distances of 1 Average Daily Range stop and 2 Average Daily Range target, which are 34.88 and 69.76, are descriptive and not tested exits, and should not be applied to the 66% average long trend win or entered without a signal. The maximum whole shares that can be bought is 0 under the 212.75 cap, and since there are no holdings, there is no progress, target fraction, or days held to adjust. The dividend-adjusted diagnostic does not validate the raw executable exit prices. The source of this information is https://runway.adityaperswal.workers.dev/data/stock-bars, and the archive 2958-2997 contains raw observations and code, showing zero entry.
A trading system using fixed diagnostics and natural payoffs produced 10,000 independent and identically distributed paths, each with 5 trades, reinvesting 10% of changing capital per trade. The results showed terminal percentiles of -2.2383%, 11.7462%, and 28.4979%, a loss frequency of 8.11%, and a 95% trade-step drawdown of 3.1173%. This is an illustration only, without considering calendar holding windows, barrier-touch models, clustered regimes, or unknown tails. A Quarter Kelly plugin estimated a capital fraction of 1.56943, but this is deemed too large and unreliable. As a result, the authorized fraction is 0, due to estimation risk and incomplete exit models. The position cap is $212.7475 and the nominal risk budget is $8.5099, but these do not establish a trading edge. The Generalized Extreme Value (GEV) function, a statistical tool to model extreme events, shows that only 0 whole shares can be traded under the cap, and only fractional exits are allowed during regular sessions. A 10% fund allocation of $27.867 would also require fractional shares. This information comes from a data source at https://runway.adityaperswal.workers.dev/data/stock-bars, with archive numbers 2958-2997, and an audit script called audit.py. No trading order is placed.
The analysis of the GEV payoff is uncertain due to historical data. The study is based on certain assumptions: there are 5 closed holdout trades and no closed training trades. Using a method called NumPy with a seed of 906, the analysis resampled 10,000 times and found the average payoff to be 23.11798%. The range of possible payoffs is between -6.49303% and 58.89909%, which is likely an underestimate. Looking at daily data from 2025 for the SPY stock with 420 aligned returns, the analysis found a beta of 1.78518 and an annual arithmetic intercept of 45.17725%, with a correlation of 0.554865. This data is descriptive, not predictive. The average win of 66.1459% is due to long-term holds and cannot be used to set short-term targets. Two recent fund wins were due to forced liquidations and do not provide a reliable sample. The analysis is cautious and would require a more robust sample with actual risk control to change its eligibility. The data is archived from 2958 to 2997 and is sourced from https://runway.adityaperswal.workers.dev/data/stock-bars. The conclusion is that there is no authorized size that is valid under edgegate and no forecast that GEV will fall.
A preregistered note was made before analyzing the stock bars. The analysis used daily adjusted prices of GEV and SPY from 2024 to September 4, 2026, which included 610 bars of GEV data starting from April 2, 2024. The trading strategy was based on a simple moving average crossover, where a 10-day average crossing a 50-day average would trigger an entry or exit, and only long positions were considered. The Vectorbt fees were 5 basis points and slippage was 10 basis points for each side of the trade, with a stress test of 10/20 basis points. In 2024, the training period showed a return of 82.6037% and a drawdown of 9.2479%, but there were no completed training trades to estimate the win/loss ratio. The holdout period starting from 2025 showed a return of 129.1912% and a drawdown of 27.205%, with 5 natural exits, 40% wins, and an average win of 66.1459% and an average loss of 5.5673%. The stress test showed a return of 125.779%. Nine different combinations of fast and slow moving averages were tested, but the fixed 10/50 combination was retained without further tuning. The total return was reconciled within 3e-10 percentage points, and the maximum trade cost difference was 4.04e-8 dollars. A command-line interface control was used to run the strategy with the symbols GEV, a simple moving average cross strategy, a fast period of 10, a slow period of 50, and a period of 730 days. The results showed 501 bars, a return of 134.4719%, a drawdown of 27.7697%, a win rate of 33.333%, and 6 trades, with a buy-and-hold return of 375.2721%. However, despite the positive performance, there was no trading authorization due to the small sample size and lack of natural training payoffs. The data and code used for this analysis are archived and can be found at https://runway.adityaperswal.workers.dev/data/stock-bars, with full inputs, code, and results archived as observations 2958-2997. This is a new diagnostic for GEV and not a revalidation of prior results.
The QQQ exchange-traded fund tracks the Nasdaq 100 index before expenses and is non-diversified, meaning it does not spread its investments across many areas, which is known as diversification, a strategy to manage risk. This concentration allows for common-factor shocks, which are sudden changes that affect many investments at the same time, and these shocks can be either positive or negative. A filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission from December 19, 2025, states that the QQQ has annual expenses of 0.18% and is concentrated in technology as of October 31, 2025. It also mentions a change to an open-end management company, which is a type of investment company that can issue new shares, and this filing replaces older descriptions. The main point against investing, or bear case, is that expectations for growth can already be included in the prices of stocks and calls, and bad news about interest rates or earnings can lower stock prices while increasing the volatility of puts, which are a type of option. There is no established advantage in the cash flow or valuation of companies, and no new fundamental change has been established over the weekend. The cost rate of 0.18% per year is very low, and trading variance and feed quality are more important than this cost. The conclusion is that there is no support for buying calls, and to have a fair price, current dividends and specific ex-dividend dates would be needed, but these are not assumed to be verified.
The idea that ordinary stock price ranges can guarantee profitable option exits is being questioned. There are three main points to consider: (1) the range of stock prices can limit the possible exits for options, (2) a trend in stock prices alone does not mean the option is underpriced, and (3) the full premium paid for an option, not just the distance to a stop-loss, uses up the risk limit. On September 4, the stock prices for certain stocks were recorded: QQQ was at $719.10, with an Average True Range (a measure of stock price volatility) of 8.1675, a Relative Strength Index (a measure of stock price momentum) of 53.73, and Simple Moving Averages (a measure of stock price trend) of $717.517 over 20 days and $711.0402 over 50 days. Similarly, SPY was at $770.18, IWM was at $295.94, and PATH was at $15.20, each with their own volatility, momentum, and trend measures. These mixed results do not prove that the trend will continue. A call option for QQQ with a strike price of $731 is $11.90, or 1.46 times the Average True Range above the current stock price, which could be reached in a strong move but is not the average outcome within one remaining session after September 4, considering the holiday on September 7. The case against this trade is that a flat stock price, lower realized variance, and time decay could eliminate the small premium, making it harder to make a profit despite the low cost of entry. There are no existing holdings to reset, and no indicator is a reason to enter a trade. The data comes from https://runway.adityaperswal.workers.dev/data/stock-bars, which provides stock price data for QQQ, SPY, IWM, and PATH.
