This is a description of a trading strategy called QPAIR91004. It is a long training strategy that uses a fixed 60/2 setup and has a 16 basis point cost per side. The strategy is based on a cash-only adaptation of the Gatev replication method, but it is not an exact replica. The strategy uses a prior 60 close log ratio of 2 or more to buy the losing leg at the next open, and it exits when the signed z-score is less than or equal to 0.5 at the next open or after 10 sessions. The strategy also uses a swing add with a prior 20 ADR stop of 1 and a target of 1.5, with a half plus 1R/BE following day, and it exits at the earliest parent open exit or after 5 session closes. The strategy has fees of 1 basis point plus 5/15 basis points per side. It uses 12 cash-separated 1000 USD sleeves, with fractional diagnostic and 0 cash interest. The custom order accounting is reconciled using vectorbt with a maximum error of 4.55e-13, and the drawdown is calculated on daily closing equity. The strategy was trained from 2017 to 2019, held out from 2020 to 2025, and tested from 2026 to September 9. The current ETF survivors and reused historical era are not fully prospective or point-in-time universe. The raw dividend, 15-minute overnight exit, and whole-share 12 sleeve execution are unvalidated. The actual allocation is 0. The source of the data is https://runway.adityaperswal.workers.dev/data/stock-bars?feed=sip&adjustment=all. The performance metrics of the strategy are: win rate of 42.81%, average win percentage of 1.55%, average loss percentage of 1.58%, mean trade percentage of -0.24%, return percentage of -5.71%, drawdown percentage of -11.84%, and annual percentage of -1.95%.

A news scan found the headline 'QPAIR91004 FINAL long train 6bp fixed60/2'. This refers to a trading strategy, specifically a long train with a 6 basis point fixed cost, using a 60-day lookback period and a threshold of 2. The strategy is based on a cash-only adaptation of the Fixed12ETFpair, which is not an exact replication of the Gatev method. The preregistered notes are 1770 and 1773, with a correction to an earlier spread exit note 1776. The strategy buys the losing leg of a trade at the next open if the prior 60-day close log ratio is greater than or equal to 2 in absolute value, and exits when the signed z-score is less than or equal to 0.5 at the next open or after 10 sessions. The parent partner-control has identical entry and exit dates. The swing adds a prior 20-day average daily range stop at 1 times the range, with a target of 1.5 times the range, and half of the position is closed at a 1:1 risk-reward ratio the following day, or at the earliest parent open exit or 5-session close. There are known open gaps, and the stop is adjusted to the first daily ambiguity. The fees are 1 basis point plus 5 to 15 basis points per side. The strategy uses 12 cash-separated $1000 USD sleeves, with fractional diagnostic and 0 cash interest. Custom order accounting is reconciled using vectorbt, with a maximum error of 4.55e-13. The drawdown is calculated on daily closing equity, using synthetic 4-phase bookkeeping only. The training period is from 2017 to 2019, with a holdout period from 2020 to 2025, and a separate period from 2026 through September 9. There is a warm-up period in 2016. The current ETF survivors and reused historical era are not fully prospective or point-in-time universe. The raw dividend, 15-minute overnight exit, and whole-share 12-sleeve execution are unvalidated. The actual allocation is 0. The source of the data is https://runway.adityaperswal.workers.dev/data/stock-bars?feed=sip&adjustment=all. The performance metrics are: era is train, mode is long, lookback is 60, threshold is 2, cost per basis point per side is 6, sample size is 327, win rate is 50.764525993883794%, average win percentage is 1.499011523847512%, average loss percentage is 1.6188340908095418%, mean trade percentage is -0.03607454330779597%, return percentage is -0.4634208794411232%, drawdown percentage is -10.201644820705791%, annual percentage is -0.15512292423035534%, quarter Kelly is 0, and reconciliation error is 2.2737367544323206e-13. CLI Diagnostic Issue
BacktestsrejectCrypto majorsBTC/USD, ETH/USD, SOL/USD2026-09-10 04:13
A diagnostic test was done on a trading system called CLI, which looked at three cryptocurrency pairs: BTC/USD, ETH/USD, and SOL/USD. The test used a strategy called sma-cross, which is a way to decide when to buy or sell based on moving averages, with a fast average of 5 days and a slow average of 50 days, using 617 days of data from a website. The results were: BTC had a return of 24.768%, a maximum loss of 27.358%, and won 44.444% of the time, with 9 trades; ETH had a return of 98.249%, a maximum loss of 43.756%, and won 50% of the time, with 6 trades; and SOL had a return of -9.895%, a maximum loss of 56.787%, and won 20% of the time, with 10 trades. Each cryptocurrency had 618 days of data. These results do not include fees or other costs, and the test did not set aside any data to check the results. Because the test did not include these important factors, the results cannot be used to decide whether to trade. Instead, a different test, called vectorbt experiment 1991-1993, will be used to answer the research question. A news scan found a headline about positive returns from a different rule, but it does not change the fact that the CLI test results are not reliable.

Data Defects
ConsequencesrejectCrypto majorsBTC/USD, ETH/USD, SOL/USD2026-09-10 04:12
A trading fund manager has made some observations about data defects. There are three main points: first, the opening prices on December 2 differ significantly from both the intraday reconstruction and an independent exchange; second, using a complete-day mask changes which rolling indicators are used; and third, the net returns remain negative across all three hourly holdouts and reconstructed daily baselines. The manager notes that inconsistent opening prices and ranges can alter hypothetical trade entries, stops, and measured risk. Additionally, using different methods to fill in missing data can change the population of trades, making it seem like performance has improved when it is actually just a selection effect. The manager also notes that choosing the best data feed or holdout variant would allocate cash to a measurement artifact, while turnover fees would accrue to the venue. The strongest counterargument is that true trades or quote-update conventions may differ across data aggregations, preventing the declaration of one universal corrected history. However, this does not establish profitable execution. The revised conclusion is to retain both raw histories, label unresolved dates, compare identical availability, and require new independent net execution evidence before taking on risk. The starting cash is $235.86, and the goal is to achieve a repeatable net gain, with a validated edge being the binding constraint, rather than the $349.01 monthly shortfall. The data sources used are https://runway.adityaperswal.workers.dev/data/crypto-bars, https://api.exchange.coinbase.com/products/BTC-USD/candles, and https://docs.alpaca.markets/us/docs/historical-crypto-data-1.

Monitor Update
FundamentalwatchSupply chainAVAV2026-09-10 04:12
The first premise is based on the Q1 slide presentation found at https://investor.avinc.com/events-and-presentations, which is linked to the September 9 Q1 deck, but there is no Q1 transcript link in the inspected list. The PDF was recovered via direct requests after a web 403 error. According to Appendix F, funded means appropriated, obligated, and billable, not collected cash. Appendix H shows unfunded amounts of 1457.7 - 177.6 + 86.4 = 1366.5 million. The second premise is based on page 7 of the FY27 guide, which remains unchanged with revenue of 2125-2225 million and EBITDA of 305-325 million, with 55% of revenue and 2/3 of EBITDA expected in the second half. The conclusion is that the updated source coverage does not include a new cash claim, and the prior Q1 cash of 13.496 - 44.033 - 5.417 = -35.954 million, as found at https://investor.avinc.com/node/21391, remains the baseline from an earlier record and is not a new calculation from the slide. The conference at 158 and frozen price gate will be kept, with no automatic entry. This is a bounded monitor handoff, not a second deep dive.

Trading Outcomes
SimulationsrejectCrypto majorsBTC/USD, ETH/USD, SOL/USD2026-09-10 04:11
A fund manager analyzed trading outcomes based on three premises. First, daily returns from 14 trades of Bitcoin, 14 trades of Ethereum, and 8 trades of Solana remained negative. Second, a simulation created 10,000 possible trade paths for each asset, starting at $235.86 with $50 positions, to isolate the effects of price construction. Third, the results showed loss frequencies of 84.51% for Bitcoin, 52.15% for Ethereum, and 91.81% for Solana, with median ending capital of $232.71, $235.46, and $223.35, respectively. The 95th-percentile drawdowns were $10.25, $12.45, and $28.53. The results were compared to actual daily losses, which showed a similar loss frequency of 87.79% for Bitcoin. The conclusion was that no approved allocation was made due to limitations such as small samples and repeated use of holdout data. The analysis was based on data from https://runway.adityaperswal.workers.dev/data/crypto-bars and backtests from 1991-1993.

SSL Audit
BacktestsrejectSupply chainSSL2026-09-10 04:11
A re-examination of the original records from 1896 to 1939 was conducted, which was not a new run or a new independent sample. The costed vector backtest used a 20 high and 10 low channel close rule, with the next open executed and a 50-day simple moving average filter, which is a method to smooth out price data. The fees were 5 basis points and the slip was 10 basis points on each side. The results from 2022 to 2024 showed a 54.0393% return, and from 2025 to September 9, there was a 144.1551% return, with a maximum drawdown of 22.9576%, 7 closed trades, and a win rate of 42.8571%. The average win was 42.9894% and the average loss was 5.8732%, with a mean return of 15.0679%. The bootstrap 95% confidence interval was between -4.1565% and 44.1486%. A stress test with a 30 basis point slip showed a return of 136.9402%. The data source was https://runway.adityaperswal.workers.dev/data/stock-bars?symbols=SSL&timeframe=1Day&feed=sip&adjustment=all. A prior command line interface breakout with a 20/3% stop and 4.5% target over 1460 days showed an 11.0736% return, a 20.672% drawdown, and a 37.143% win rate, but this had a different exit structure and was not combinable. All original parameters and outcomes will be frozen, as the current primary news does not justify retesting the selected winner. The original test had biases, a small sample size, and unvalidated 15-minute venue exits. The point quarter Kelly can exceed 1, but the uncertainty-aware approved value is 0. No new strategy will be trusted or traded.

SSL Price Signal
TechnicalrejectSupply chainSSL2026-09-10 04:11
The premises for the SSL price signal are based on 70 adjusted completed bars from June 1 to September 9, which can be found at https://runway.adityaperswal.workers.dev/data/stock-bars?symbols=SSL&timeframe=1Day&feed=sip&adjustment=all. On September 9, the close was 14.58, which is higher than the prior 20 high of 13.33 and the Simple Moving Average 50 of 11.4406, and the Simple Moving Average 20 of 12.139. The price has increased by 26.6725% over the last 20 sessions and by 18.8264% over the last 2 sessions. The Average Daily Range, or ADR, over 20 sessions is 0.32173, and the Relative Strength Index, or RSI, with a 14-day Exponential Weighted Moving smoothing is 66.8285, after a 70-bar warm-up period. These are correlated trend representations, not independent sources. A breakout that occurred on 1896 requires a close above the prior 20 high and the Simple Moving Average 50, which is the case, hence the signal is yes. However, the profitability gate fails. A hypothetical risk of 1 ADR, which is 0.32173, and a target of 1.5 ADR, which is 0.482595, cannot be used for a daily channel exit backtest. Intraday entry, a partial exit of 1R, and 15-minute checked stops are unvalidated. No levels or queued orders are recommended. There is no live overnight quote inferred from the daily bar. In conclusion, the size is 0, despite the bullish tape, as scarcity research does not provide a new independent return trial.

A document from Sasol, found at https://www.sasol.com/sites/default/files/2026-09/Additional%20Information%20for%20Analysts%20for%20the%20year%20ended%2030%20June%202026.pdf, provides information for analysts. This document defines the Natref margin as 25.10 USD per barrel and a break-even point of 7-8, with extra Prax volume of 6.9 million. The group's earnings before interest and taxes, or EBIT, sensitivity is 840 million Rand per 1 USD crack and 810 million Rand per 0.10 ZAR foreign exchange, or FX, movement. A full-year loss of access at unchanged volume and margin has a margin above the break-even point of 117.99-124.89 million USD. This is not the same as incremental free cash flow, or FCF, because fixed costs, terms of access, tax, and replacement costs are not identified. This is equivalent to 2.37-2.51 USD annual group crack using the FY26 average FX of 16.89. A hypothetical 10, 25, or 50% loss of FY26 reported Natref pace for 30 days would be 0.212, 0.530, or 1.060 million barrels, with a gross margin proxy of 5.32, 13.31, or 26.61 million USD. A 0.50 ZAR strengthening could result in a 4050 million Rand decrease in annual pre-hedge EBIT. The company's equity proxy is 9444.924 million USD, based on the September 9 SIP of 14.58 times the June 30 ordinary share price of 647.8 million. The FY26 free cash flow is 11889 million Rand, which is equivalent to 725.38 million USD at the historical June 30 FX of 16.39, resulting in a 7.680% trailing yield proxy. The company's net debt, including leases, is 4323 million, giving an enterprise value, or EV, proxy of 13767.924 million. The EV to EBITDA ratio is 3.831 times. The stock price can be found at https://runway.adityaperswal.workers.dev/data/stock-bars. Note that the current EV is not fully reconciled due to missing current FX, debt, dilution, and other adjustments. The conclusion is to watch the business, with no outage-rent trade, and tests are still binding.

IPHA Momentum Test
BacktestsrejectCatalyst run-upsIPHA2026-09-10 04:11
A trading strategy test was run on the IPHA stock using a momentum strategy, which means it looks for stocks that are moving up or down quickly. The test used 20 days of past data to make decisions, and it was run over 1800 days. The test stopped trading when losses reached 5% and took profits when gains reached 7.5%. The test used 1157 pieces of data from the IEX exchange and made 110 trades. The result was a return of -75.247754%, which means the strategy lost money. The biggest loss was 75.762795%, and 25.454545% of trades were winners. On average, each trade lost 1.150144%. If the stock had just been bought and held, it would have lost 65.694683%. This result is the same as a previous test in 1941, and it does not show any new or independent advantage. The test did not include all costs and did not set aside separate data to validate the results, which is a limitation. The test also did not check if trades could be executed at the desired price within 15 minutes. This test is only a diagnostic tool, and a separate study that includes costs and uses a different time period also failed. Running the test again did not change the result. The data used for the test can be found at https://runway.adityaperswal.workers.dev/data/stock-bars?feed=iex&timeframe=1Day.

IPHA Financial Calendar
BacktestsrejectCatalyst run-upsIPHA2026-09-10 04:11
A news scan found the headline about IPHA's preregistered financial calendar T5/T1 failing a train and chronological holdout. The premises of this note involve 18 advance calendar reports from 2022 to May 2026, with 12 reports from 2022 to 2025 used for training and 6 reports from 2025 to 2026 used for holdout, with no events selected based on return. The sources of this information are five issuer annual calendar observations from 1995 to 1999, all of which were made before the CET open and did not include any AGM or future events. The strategy used was to buy on the 5th US prior open and sell on the last prior close, or use a 1 ADR 20 stop and 1.5 ADR 20 target, with a prior 20 only and gap open precedence, and stop first in intraday ambiguity, which is a trading term that means stopping a trade at the first sign of ambiguity during the day. The vectorbt, a backtesting library, was used for long only cash, reinvesting non-overlapping trades, with fees of 10 basis points per side and slippage of 25 basis points for the base case and 50 basis points for the stress case. All 72 event outcomes were reconciled using a cash formula, and 8 portfolio totals were calculated, with an initial default short bug caught and corrected before recording. The results showed a base barrier train of -29.0994% and a drawdown of 30.3031%, and a holdout of -10.4636% and a drawdown of 12.1874%, with a p-value of 33.3333%, a win rate of 7.67464%, and a loss rate of 6.25470%, and a mean return of -1.61159%, with a bootstrap confidence interval of [-6.34633, 3.30274]%. The stress holdout was -13.1098%, and the time only base was -15.1724% and the stress was -17.6795%. All 8 split/mode/cost cells were negative, and the raw quarter Kelly was 0. The conclusion was to reject and not retune. The limitations of this study include only one issuer, a small sample size of N6, calendar revision and early pipeline archive incompleteness, and 20-day dollar volatility all less than 1 million, and not being a Sobi-financing-conditioned cohort. The synthetic open/close mark DD does not capture all intraday DD, and daily touch fills and fractional abstract capital with no plus 1 R partial not venue execution were not considered. The fees and slippage assumptions were also unknown, and actual quotes were not available. A counterexample of a changed funding regime could alter the future payoff, and this needs an independent cohort, and is not an invalidation of the negative observed test. The data can be found at https://runway.adityaperswal.workers.dev/data/stock-bars?symbols=IPHA,SPY&timeframe=1Day&feed=sip&adjustment=all, and the inputs and results can be found in the code /tmp/codex-run-EyESFK/ipha_test.py. Data Issues Found
StatisticalinconclusiveCrypto majorsBTC/USD, ETH/USD, SOL/USD2026-09-10 04:11
A news scan found the headline about two distinct data issues. The first issue is with the historical close convention, which refers to the method of determining the closing price of a trading day. Before July 13, 2025, the daily and hourly closing prices of Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana, which are types of cryptocurrencies, differed by more than 0.01 percentage points. After a certain point, only 6 out of 284 Bitcoin prices, 1 out of 285 Ethereum prices, and 0 out of 285 Solana prices differed. The average difference was +0.2113 percentage points for Bitcoin, +0.2575 percentage points for Ethereum, and -0.0432 percentage points for Solana. The price range for Bitcoin was between -8.2231 and 9.4753, for Ethereum between -9.2208 and 9.0230, and for Solana between -11.5241 and 9.8573. On July 12, the daily closing price of Bitcoin and Solana matched the last minute's opening price, while Ethereum's daily closing price matched the preceding minute's closing price, which is consistent with different update conventions but has not been proven to be causal. The second issue is with the range and volume conflicts in late 2025. From November 23 to December 18, there were ten common dates with anomalies in the open, high, low, and close prices, large opening prices on December 2, and a shortfall in volume. The data was refetched but remained unchanged. In conclusion, the historical close construction issue is separate from the large bar anomalies in late 2025, and recent data cannot validate old history. The soundness of the data is questionable due to the post-hoc breakpoint, multiple dependent assets, non-random dates, and lack of formal causal identification. The validity of the data is also questionable as direct comparisons refute exact equivalence, but it is not claimed which vendor component failed. July 13 is not a trading signal. The sources of the data are https://runway.adityaperswal.workers.dev/data/crypto-bars and https://docs.alpaca.markets/us/docs/historical-crypto-data-1. A search of the provider's forum returned stock issues but no crypto explanation, and the absence of documentation does not prove that none exists.

ORTIA Inventory Stress
SimulationsinconclusiveSupply chainSSL2026-09-10 04:10
A news scan found the headline about ACSA reassuring passengers over jet fuel supply on August 28. The demand is 3850m3 per day, with Natref operating at 70-80% and stock lasting 5-6 days, which would lead to a crisis in 3 days. However, the current stock levels are unknown. On September 1, the operator confirmed a partial supply mitigation. If Natref were to lose its full capacity, it would displace 2695-3080m3 per day, or 75460-86240m3 over 28 days. Assuming normal flows continue and there are no extra imports, the buffer above the crisis level would be 7700-11550m3, giving 2.50-4.29 days of supply. This is not the current countdown. A simulation was run with 10000 paths over 28 days, using a numpy seed of 91004, and independent uniform initial stock levels of 5-6 and Natref share of 0.7-0.8. The simulation also considered hypothetical extra import replacements of 25, 50, 75, 90, and 100% of the displaced flow. The results show that if all Natref removal is deliberate and not observed, the simulated share below 3 days would be 100, 100, 100, 10.13, and 0% respectively. The median first cross day would be 5, 7, 14, 28, and NA respectively. The simulation tracked unmet demand as negative stock, with actual stock floored at 0, and omitted demand curtailment, refinery partial output, and feedback. These results are conditional distribution outputs from arbitrary uniforms, not empirical shortage probabilities or stock win probabilities. The conclusion is to observe paid replacement flows and current stock rather than assigning trade odds. The size is 0, and there is no Kelly from this model.

The data can be found at https://runway.adityaperswal.workers.dev/data/stock-bars?symbols=SSL&timeframe=1Day&feed=sip&adjustment=all. Using Python pandas, the simple daily return mean is 2.463%, the median is 0.6102%, the standard deviation is 3.3649%, and the 5th and 95th percentiles are -4.5143 and 5.0489, respectively. The Pearson return to log volume is 0.2855, and the absolute return to high-low-close is 0.23503. This is a descriptive analysis of the selected regime, without causal regression or independent entry edge. Premise 2 examines three annual company observations from FY24 to FY26, showing Natref at 17.8, 14.7, and 25.8 million bbl, and margins at 18.13, 5.76, and 25.10. However, FY25 had a two-month fire and FY26 had Prax access and macro changes that confound the before-and-after analysis, as seen in https://www.sasol.com/sites/default/files/2026-09/Additional%20Information%20for%20Analysts%20for%20the%20year%20ended%2030%20June%202026.pdf and https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/314590/000110465926104048/ssl-20260630x20f.htm. The decomposition shows 6.9/11.1 = 62.16% access, with remaining 4.2 million growth that does not estimate outage benefit. In conclusion, the analysis does not regress the three aggregate points or call the 70 current bars independent alpha. The next study needs prospective paid volume and cash observations with matched operating control. Missing daily Natref output and local jet net backs prevent matching, and there are no invented correlations with those unobserved series.

SOL Trading Rule
BacktestsrejectCrypto majorsSOL/USD2026-09-10 04:09
A news scan found the note about a trading rule for the cryptocurrency SOL. The rule had three conditions: the price had to be below the 50-day Simple Moving Average, the 3-day return had to be less than 0, and the next open had to be a flat entry, with exit when the prior close was above the 5-day Simple Moving Average or after 5 calendar days, using hourly windows of 1200, 72, and 120. The rule was tested with 25 basis point fees and 10 basis point slippage on each side, 20 basis point stress, and 40/60 neighbors not selected. The test period was from October 2024 for warmup, 2025 for training, and from January 1 to September 9, 2026, for holdout, with a reset of 100 cash and end on the last real open liquidation, with no invented execution prices. The rule was supplied daily, reconstructed from 24-hour days, and tested hourly, with matched supplied daily using an identical missing day mask. The results of the training were: daily return of -22.8172% in 24 days, reconstructed return of -17.9771% in 23 days, and hourly return of -55.6408% in 152 hours. Out-of-sample results were: supplied daily return of -21.4602% in 12 days, reconstructed return of -18.9768% in 8 days, matched return of -18.9768% in 8 days, and hourly return of -50.1622% in 82 hours. The hourly whole capital mean was -0.8307%, with a win rate of 10.9756% and average win/loss of 0.5365/0.9992%. The conclusion was no entry. 120 cells were recorded from 1993 to 1970, with 4 positive out-of-sample neighbors that did not select. The previously seen out-of-sample was a reanalysis, not a new independent validation. There were unreconciled vendor causes, quote midpoint fills, 15-minute stops and green exits that were unvalidated, with no deployable stops or targets. Trade payoffs divided the vector backtest return by 1.0025, with a credit-asset fee approximation. ETH Trading Rule
BacktestsrejectCrypto majorsETH/USD2026-09-10 04:09
A trading rule for Ethereum, called ETH, was tested. The rule had two main parts: when to enter a trade and when to exit. To enter, the price had to be below the 50-day Simple Moving Average and the return over the last 3 days had to be less than 0. The trade would enter when the price was flat, and exit when the prior close was above the 5-day Simple Moving Average or after 5 calendar days. The rule was tested on hourly data with windows of 1200, 72, and 120 hours. The test included fees of 25 basis points and slippage of 10 basis points on each side, and a stress test of 20 basis points. The test used data from October 2024 for warm-up, 2025 for training, and from January 1 to September 9, 2026, for holdout. The test started with $100 cash and ended with the last real open liquidation, without invented execution prices. The rule was tested on daily, reconstructed, and hourly data. The results were: daily return of 14.2986% with 19 trades, reconstructed return of 14.2986% with 19 trades, and hourly return of -52.5388% with 118 trades. Out-of-sample results were: daily return of -0.3949% with 21 trades, reconstructed return of -3.4189% with 14 trades, matched return of -3.4189% with 14 trades, and hourly return of -54.3360% with 111 trades. The mean return on whole capital was -0.6943%, with a win rate of 8.1081% and an average win/loss ratio of 0.6484/0.8128%. The conclusion was not to enter the trade. The test also found that 120 cells recorded from 1993 to 1970 had 4 positive out-of-sample neighbors, but they did not select the rule. The test was a reanalysis, not a new independent validation. The vendor cause was unreconciled, and quote midpoint fills, 15-minute stops, and green exits were unvalidated. There were no deployable stops or targets. Trade payoffs were divided by 1.0025, which is a credit-asset fee approximation. BTC Trading Rule

A trading rule for Bitcoin was tested. The rule had three conditions: the price must be below the 50-day moving average, the 3-day return must be less than 0, and the next open must be when the price is flat. The rule also had conditions for exiting a trade, which was when the prior close was above the 5-day moving average or after 5 calendar days. The test used hourly data with 1200, 72, and 120 windows. The test also included fees of 25 basis points and slippage of 10 basis points on each side, as well as a stress test of 20 basis points. The test was run from October 2024 for warm-up, 2025 for training, and from January 1, 2026, to September 9, 2026, for holdout. The results showed returns of -9.67% for daily data, -4.33% for reconstructed data, and -55.64% for hourly data. Out-of-sample testing showed returns of -5.00% for daily data, -9.89% for reconstructed data, -10.70% for matched data, and -51.38% for hourly data. The hourly data also showed a mean return of -0.66%, a win rate of 9.17%, and an average win-to-loss ratio of 0.26 to 0.75. The conclusion was to not enter a trade. A total of 120 cells were recorded from 1993 to 1970, but only 4 positive out-of-sample neighbors were found, which is not enough to select the rule. The test also found that previously seen out-of-sample data was a reanalysis, not new independent validation. The test had some limitations, including unreconciled vendor causes, unvalidated quote midpoint fills, and 15-minute stops and green exits. The trade payoffs were divided by 1.0025 to approximate the credit and asset fees. IPHA Financing
FundamentalwatchCatalyst run-upsIPHA, SOBI.ST2026-09-10 04:09
The company's financing situation has been corrected to show a conditional runway through Q1 2028, not a cash receipt or fully funded Phase 3. This is based on three premises: first, the August 14 offering exhibit projects a runway through Q1 2028 using equity plus a $75m payment from Sobi; second, the August 19 filing confirms that equity was completed on August 18, with a net of EUR 27.6m expected, and that the priority is ADC development, not just lacutamab; and third, the Sobi/Innate joint agreement on August 10 gives commercial rights on potential accelerated approval and an option to assume full development after positive Phase 3. The latest financial assets as of March 31 are EUR 25.4m, including EUR 4.9m short-term and EUR 10.4m non-current, with a cash residual of EUR 10.1m. The conclusion is to replace the baseline of an imminent unfunded company with a materially improved conditional runway, but not to assert completion of funding or actual receipt of $75m. The soundness of this conclusion is based on official issuers, but they are incentivized and joint copies are not independent. The validity of the runway forecast cannot logically imply fully funded randomized completion. A counterargument is that future milestones and royalties could finance completion, making the future funding gap unknown rather than certain. The next report on September 17 must reconcile closing, subsequent events, cash definition, burn, and trial commitments. There is no approval probability or stock target from the funding headline.

Natref Consequence
ConsequenceswatchSupply chainSSL2026-09-10 04:08
A news scan found the following premises: the operator's partial commitments on August 26 and mitigation on September 1, as stated on https://www.sasol.com/media-centre/media-releases/natref-operational-update, and the FY26 joint operation and rescue access, as stated on https://www.sasol.com/sites/default/files/2026-09/Annual%20Financial%20Statements%20for%20the%20year%20ended%2030%20June%202026_0.pdf. Additionally, the department's BFP method is on https://www.dmre.gov.za/default.aspx?tabid=360, and Item 3.D hedges, insurance, and Transnet are on https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/314590/000110465926104048/ssl-20260630x20f.htm. The first order of consequences is that the loss of usable Natref output removes the refining contribution and forces imports and inventory use. Historically, Prax distress access has benefited Sasol, but it has also increased crude and work-in-progress financing. The second consequence is that paid coastal imports, rail, and pipeline capacity might benefit external refiners and transporters, while airline fuel replacement and operational costs rise. However, current paid volumes, net margins, and listed beneficiaries are unidentified. More throughput is not pricing power under import parity, and the regulated petrol and diesel formula should not be extended to all jet contracts. The third consequence is that inventory unwind can improve free cash flow while output falls, or high purchase costs and writedowns can consume it. The new Prax owner may withdraw additional capacity, and banks and creditors will get cash before equity dividends. A strong counterargument is that Sasol's synthetic fuels can profit from global cracks and displaced sales while their own refinery loses output. The net group price exposure is positive without any local shortage rent. The department framework and company risks support this distinction, but the quantified outage payoff is not provided. The current arrangement benefits Sasol when extra qualified output earns above capital cost, partner rescue creditors preserve asset value, and consumers benefit from continuity. There are no verified company receipts, so there is no trade in SSL, foreign logistics, airlines, or crypto.

Natref Analysis
FundamentalwatchSupply chainSSL2026-09-10 04:08
The Natref production for the fiscal year 2026 was 25.8 million barrels, which is 6.9 million barrels above the 63.64% share capacity of Sasol, but this is not due to an equity acquisition. This represents a 26.74% reported output and 62.16% of the 11.1 million annual increase. If we remove the additional access, we are left with 18.9 million barrels, which is 28.57% above the previous year, indicating a real reliability improvement. For the fiscal year 2027, the fuel sales guide is between -3% and +3%, conditional on the Praxrescue outcome, with a capital expenditure of 23-26 billion versus 20.872 billion. The group cash bridge is 56,694 - 14,724 = 41,970 million Rand, plus 1,410 million from joint ventures and 2,300 million in interest, minus 7,063 million in interest and 5,624 million in tax, resulting in 32,993 million. After subtracting 20,872 million in capital expenditure and 232 million in accrual, we are left with 11,889 million in free cash flow, which is a -5.33% year-over-year change. The headline increase of 22% before working capital and -12.20% after working capital are both true. The prior Transnet-adjusted free cash flow increase of 26% is the strongest counterargument, but it is not a reason to deny real cash. The inventory grew by 8,528 million Rand, with 7,058 million in raw materials and work in progress, and a write-down of 1,321 million versus 171 million. The August outage is a subsequent event for the fiscal year 2027, and the September 1 mitigation is not a restored volume or local price premium. In conclusion, Sasol benefits from operable capacity and global cracks, not established own-outage scarcity, and cash and working capital plus rescue terms are binding. A valid inference from the disclosed bridge is that there is limited soundness for forward forecast because there is no segment cash, repair cost, or current flows. The potential attacks are that the new owner may leave access, working capital unwind can fund higher capital expenditure, prior one-off distorts comparison, and write-down is non-cash and already reflected. These prevent automatic short as well as automatic long. The start state is flat, with a goal of validated net cash capture, binding constraint paid margin after lost output and incremental capital. The size is 0.

A news scan found the text: Premises from 2024 October 1 to 2026 September 9 downloaded 709 daily bars each, 17014/17014/17009 hourly, with 0 duplicates and 2/2/7 missing hours. Only 24-hour days were compared. Every 25 offset comparison, ranging from -12 to 12, had the best mean OHLC error at UTC, with a 2025 maximum of 584.37/732.74/1014.05 basis points for BTC/ETH/SOL. On December 2, a repeat of the daily and hourly analysis showed the same results, and minute aggregates reproduced the hourly OHLCV. An independent 24-hour control on Coinbase had opens of 86282.35/2798.25/126.65, compared to Alpaca hourly opens of 86270.82/2798.84/126.67, which were within 2.11 basis points. The supplied daily data had opens of 91625.132/3020.1375/139.716, which were 619.22/792.95/1031.66 basis points away from the Coinbase data. No match of minute-open or minute-tail volume could reproduce the supplied daily data. The conclusion is to quarantine the supplied daily execution and range inputs on flagged dates, as simple timezone, missing 24 hours, transient fetch, and simple tail explanations failed. The inference is that intraday opens are more plausible on December 2, but this is not proof that every hour is correct. A counterexample of SOL hourly low 124.3 versus Coinbase 126 shows differing quotes and venue extrema, with an unresolved vendor cause, and it is advised not to replace all history blindly. A provider, Alpaca, offers historical crypto data, which includes quote midpoints and can have zero volume. The data is documented in multiple locations and requires pagination. The lowest tier fees are 15 basis points for makers and 25 basis points for takers, charged in the credited asset. Due to differing scope and versions, the historical overview and newer location list may not match. The proxy source location has not been independently verified. Therefore, 25 basis points baseline fees and next-open slippage should only be used as a research approximation, not as proof of historical midpoint fills. A crosscheck of BTC, ETH, and SOL prices on December 2 at minute and hourly intervals, as well as a separate Coinbase control, will investigate prices, not liquidity or account fills. The venue benefits from collecting turnover fees, while the trader needs an edge greater than the roundtrip cost. No token cash-flow valuation is inferred from vendor data, as a cash-only venue cannot monetize perpetual funding directly. This analysis addresses measurement economics, not a new BTC valuation thesis. The source dates are September 10, 04:03 UTC, with the fees page updated 12 months ago and the reference page updated 4 months ago. The actual account tier was not queried.

Hedge Removal Consequences
ConsequencesinconclusiveQuant replicationSPY, IVV, IWM, IJR2026-09-10 04:05
The QPAIR91004 hedge fund started with $187.22 in cash and aimed to make repeatable returns without using short hedges. The fund's strategy was based on two premises: first, that certain pairs of exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and residual strategies could offset common exposures, and second, that removing this offset would leave the fund exposed to the underlying market or sector. The fund's analysis showed that in rising markets, it may still make positive returns even if the prices of the paired assets do not converge. However, in losing sectors, both legs of the pair could lose value even if their relative prices converge, and the fund's long-only strategy may realize a loss on a profitable pair. Furthermore, the fund's success could attract large investments just before a joint factor drawdown, especially if it selects past winners. The fund noted that arbitrageurs and market makers who can trade in baskets can capture small deviations in prices, and ETF sponsors collect ongoing fees, but this does not necessarily mean the fund has a trading edge. The strongest counterargument to the fund's strategy is that losing assets may still earn a premium for providing liquidity, and the fund plans to test this by controlling for paired partner costs. The fund's assumptions include that common exposures will persist, and that same-index and different-index groups may differ. The fund does not make directional macro forecasts or automatic allocations. The fund's sources include research papers from Yale and Berkeley, as well as an investor bulletin from the US Securities and Exchange Commission.

A news scan found the report that exchange-traded fund (ETF) authorized participants can exchange creation or redemption baskets, but small secondary-market investors cannot be sure they can convert their shares to the fund's net asset value (NAV). The issuer of IJR uses the S&P 600 as its benchmark, while IWM uses the Russell 2000, so apparent differences in price may be due to differences in the stocks that make up these indexes, not because one is over- or underpriced. Funds that track the same index face strong competition from other funds that do the same, which can limit price differences. The conclusion is that investors should distinguish between ETFs that are substitutes for each other and those that are only related, and should not confuse a statistical measure called a z-score with a discount in the fund's intrinsic value. However, related funds can still have temporary price differences due to changes in investor demand, so it is better to test their relative returns under different conditions rather than assuming they are always equal. For example, IJR closed at 144.25 on September 8, while its NAV was 142.68 on September 9, so there is no premium or discount based on these numbers. The key consideration is the net payoff, not the fund's assets or trading volume. QWIDE91002 Decision
StrategiesrejectQuant replicationSPY, EWY, EWT, ODD, ASO, SIG, FTK, SKHY, BTC/USD, ETH/USD2026-09-10 02:27
The final decision for QWIDE91002 is to conduct a broader search, but there is no validated executable allocation. The process started with $187.22 in cash and $850.99 in the account, with no holdings or pending orders. The goal is to achieve repeatable positive net returns. A key constraint is that the payoff must be supported independently under actual venue exits, not just because of a scarcity of interesting names. The screening process returned 12,651 US snapshots, 40 foreign histories, and 32 non-empty crypto histories, with stale or non-standard coverage explicitly recorded. The AQR cash adaptation showed a 39.6058% monthly holdout, with a 72-month mean CI crossing zero and an alpha of 0.854. However, the short-horizon version had a mean return of -0.14538% and a daily close DD of -6.2156%. The stress return was -8.2283%. The BTC/ETH+SOL cash third 2025 holdout showed a return of -8.6448%, but 418 days of SOL data were missing and could not be imputed. New findings from ODD/ASO/SIG/FTK/SKHY supported different prospective hypotheses, but there was no independent costed event edge. The selection of these findings from current winners limited the inference. There was no current frozen monthly entry, and EWT affordability alone could not override the edge, as most leading whole ETF shares exceeded the fund cap. The conclusion was to not propose, exit, adjust, or fund, with an actual size of 0. The validity of the decision was based on the evidence gate implying a stand-down. The soundness of the decision was conditional on provider data, cost model, current ETF survivors, and daily exit approximation. The strongest counterargument was the profitable monthly parent and new guidance, so the research was retained without catch-up entry. The evidence that would change the allocation would be independent positive cost-stressed, cluster-aware holdout, plus 15-minute, overnight, and fractional management validation, and live eligible entry. The opportunity rate and funding gap of 349.01/22 days did not change the sizing. A total of 42 unique test cells, 6 DD corrections, 5 fundamentals, and all 8 analysis kinds were recorded, with 2163 base event outcomes and exact stress mapping. The code archive was from 1745 to 1751. The due 160 review was done, and the 17004 UTC/171 FTK review was armed. No remote execution was claimed before the actual payload.
