This is a report on a simulation of an automated trading strategy. The simulation was based on the following premises: it used paired daily returns from the last 5 years, which were obtained from the website https://runway.adityaperswal.workers.dev/data/stock-bars. The simulation used a random number generator with a seed of 200900, generated 10,000 paths, and simulated 60 trading sessions in blocks of 5 days, sampled uniformly. The starting prices were 67.37 and 64.63, and the simulation used a fixed initial stop and target, with the first close crossing being the key factor. The simulation did not take into account intraday paths, costs, gaps at stop execution, or profit ratchet. The results of the simulation were as follows: the terminal dollar quantiles were -13.946045912979042, 5.786306726172633, and 25.56167991248244. For the EEM stock, the probability of hitting the stop first was 0.6359, the probability of hitting the target first was 0.224, and the probability of neither was 0.1401. For the XLE stock, the probability of hitting the stop first was 0.5348, the probability of hitting the target first was 0.189, and the probability of neither was 0.2762. Note that these results are for the terminal dollar quantiles of the simulation, not the strategy's profit and loss. The frequencies are not calibrated to live odds and cannot be used to supply the Kelly criterion. This simulation is a counterexample to a non-stationary rate or commodity regime. The model sensitivity is recorded, but the strategy is not revalidated and the positions are not resized.
A study used daily stock data from January 2020 to September 18, 2026, to test a trading strategy. The data was normalized and came from a source called SIP. A gap was calculated as the difference between the opening price and the previous closing price minus one. The study looked at 1686 dates and scaled the results by 67.37 and 64.63. The study found that the correlation between two sets of data was 0.45693 over the whole period, but -0.41657 over the last 252 days. The worst loss was -16.20275 on March 16, 2020. The study also found that the 1% quantile was -4.12871. The results suggest that the assumption of a stable hedge is not valid due to a structural regime change. This means that the usual estimates of potential losses are not reliable.
The premises for the R92000 three-stage bear chains are: 1) there are no filled holdings, and 2) attack both pending theses. The prices from September 18 are unchanged compared to the prior run, with EEM up 28.31 over 12 months but down 5.31 over 63 days, and XLE's mean up 19.70 over 5.3 years. The issuer concentration for EEM and XLE has been verified, as well as the monetary tightening on September 16. There are two conditional chains: one for EEM and one for XLE. The EEM chain has three conditions: higher funding costs or export restrictions, weakened earnings expectations and local currencies, and the USD ETF falling through 65.48. The XLE chain also has three conditions: weakened demand, fallen producer prices and operating cash, and concentrated energy shares falling through 62.10. There is also a joint chain where an inflation shock leads to tighter policy and weaker end-demand, causing both equities to fall. Counterchains include sustained capex productivity for EEM earnings and sustained scarcity supporting XLE cash. No newly confirmed weekend issuer change was found, and the same stops and targets remain in place.
The analysis is based on three premises. First, the iShares MSCI Emerging Markets ETF (EEM) has a country breakdown of 42.24% in Taiwan, 28.10% in Korea, and 19.94% in China, totaling 68.64%, with a price-to-earnings ratio of 19.40. Second, the State Street Energy Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLE) has a 20.03% weighting in Exxon and 15.19% in Chevron, totaling 35.22%, with a forward price-to-earnings ratio of 12.46 and a trailing ratio of 17.82. Third, the Federal Reserve raised interest rates by 25 basis points to 3.75-4.00% on September 16. The bear case for EEM is that its broad-country label hides semiconductor and regional concentration, which could lead to earnings compression due to export slowdown and foreign exchange weakness. However, resilient capital expenditures and local-currency exporters could offset dollar strength. The bear case for XLE is that its low forward multiple may capitalize cyclical peak earnings, and demand destruction or supply normalization could reverse commodity profits and buybacks. Nevertheless, physical shortage supports cash generation, and integrated and refining exposures vary. The beneficiaries of these mechanisms are producers in scarcity and importers on normalization. Momentum remains the rationale for entry, with a historical price target of 90. The economic direction is valid, but the magnitude and timing are uncertain, with no discretionary veto or target inflation.
The premises for this analysis are: 1) a daily SIP source was completed through September 18, found at https://runway.adityaperswal.workers.dev/data/stock-bars?feed=sip&adjustment=all. 2) The issuer confirmed a 2:1 split on December 5, 2025, which requires one repair. 3) A fixed rank above SMA rule was used. The table columns show the symbol, rank, and returns for 21, 63, 126, and 252 days, as well as the score, close price, SMA200, ATR20, whether it is above the SMA, and the chosen quantity. The table includes the following ETFs: SPY, QQQ, IWM, EFA, EEM, GLD, TLT, XLK, XLC, XLY, XLP, XLV, XLF, XLI, XLB, XLE, XLU, and XLRE. A news scan found the data for these ETFs. The conclusion is that EEM is the first index, XLK is the first sector, but the total of 190.55 and 67.37 exceeds the fund cap of 240. XLE is the second choice and fits at 64.63. There are 132 reserved and 108 residual. The ledger for the other funds is flat, and the proposed fractional lots are not yet orders. There is no reranking-induced turnover, and existing queues remain valid. The data has a caveat that dividend completeness is unverified, and a specific no-retest mandate applies.
The automated trading fund manager made the following decisions based on certain premises. The premises are: the system received signals to select stocks EEM and XLE with a specific budget, and the response required a split repair, which is a way to adjust the trading strategy. The system also queried current trades and found that there were 12 pending trades and 13 open trades, but no other lots or queues were supplied. The system used data from a website to determine the limit distances, which are the maximum amounts that the system can trade, and found that they were within the allowed ranges of 0.33 and 0.39 times the average true range, or ATR, which is a measure of volatility. The ATR values were 0.94325 and 1.264725. The system also found that the total value of the trades was less than 132 and each trade was less than 250, which is an aggregate limit. Based on these premises, the system concluded that it should preserve the current trades for EEM and XLE. The system set the following prices for EEM: low of 67.37, sell of 65.48, and target of 74.59, with a risk of 1.89 and a potential reward of 7.22, which gives a ratio of 3.8201. For XLE, the system set the following prices: low of 64.63, sell of 62.10, and target of 77.97, with a risk of 2.53 and a potential reward of 13.34, which gives a ratio of 5.2727. These trades are expected to expire in 1-3 months. Both trades have a 72-hour expiration time and will cover the Monday trading session, but they are still pending and have not been filled. The combined risk of the trades is 4.42, and there is a 10% gap of 13.20, but this is not a loss. The system also calculated the potential losses for EEM and XLE, which are 10.71796349% and 20.62794670%, respectively, at a 90% probability. The system will reconcile the trades when they are filled. The system's decisions are based on fixed rules, but the soundness of the decisions is limited by the completeness and accuracy of the vendor's data. The system will use the current ledger before making any changes. The system does not have any empirical Kelly criteria, which is a way to determine the optimal bet size, and it does not have any optional trades. The system ran 3503 simulations, but they are not live odds, which means they are not based on real-time data. The system has a residual cash balance of 108 because two slots are covered, but there is no discretionary cash veto, which means that the system cannot cancel trades based on cash availability. The system planned to buy fractional amounts of EEM and XLE, but these plans are not orders. The system has rules for invalidating trades, such as canceling or requeuing trades if the pending distance is greater than 1 ATR, and it has rules for filling trades and determining profitability. The system's job ended at 07:46, and it ran 66 times, which is sufficient until the next review. There are no new strategies, and the system will not retest the generic backtest requirement. There are no orders, cancels, or exit moves in this run.
The New York Federal Reserve, also known as the NYFed, has a calendar that lists household spending at 11:00 ET on September 21 and Philly non-manufacturing at 8:30 ET and Richmond manufacturing at 10:00 ET on September 22. The Bureau of Labor Statistics, or BLS, has no scheduled releases on September 21 and 22. Abivax has a scheduled event for its H1 2026 financial results on September 21, but only the date is given. MillerKnoll has a conference call scheduled for 8:30 ET on September 22. The FDA advisory committee calendar is empty, but this does not mean there will be no FDA decisions. The calendar coverage is limited. If spending and orders are weak, it may lead to weaker demand expectations, which could put pressure on cyclicals and energy earnings, and ETF prices may cross stops. On the other hand, if demand is strong, it could support earnings, but may also lead to rate pressure, making the price path uncertain. These are just hypotheses and not based on measured surprise or causal attribution. The plan is to check fills and stops, and only adjust the profit, without changing the fixed rank. There is no direct claim for Abivax or MillerKnoll. Legacy headlines have not been independently verified and are not being acted on.
The premises for R91908 are based on signals from a website that provides stock market data, specifically the stock bars with sip feed and all adjustments, and pending receipts from December 13. The analysis shows that EEM is trading at 67.03, which is higher than its Simple Moving Average (SMA) of 62.09, and XLE is trading at 64.31, which is higher than its SMA of 55.31. However, these holdings are not currently profitable. The maximum possible ratchet, or price increase, for EEM is calculated as the maximum of its SMA, high price over the last 20 days minus 2 times the Average True Range (ATR), which equals 67.24. For XLE, this value is 63.64. But this ratchet should not be applied until the trade is filled and profitable. The current stop-loss order remains at 65.48 and 62.10. The system will requeue, or re-evaluate, the trade only if the price moves more than 0.94 and 1.26 times the ATR away from 67.37 and 64.63, based on the latest distances from the IEX, which are 0.33 and 0.39 below the trigger price. Once the trade is filled, the system will recompute the actual entry point minus 2 times the ATR and the entry point multiplied by 1 plus the 90th percentile of price movements, which is 0.107 and 0.206, to maintain a disciplined approach to risk. The profit ratchet will be the maximum of the existing value, SMA, and high price over the last 20 days minus 2 times the ATR. The stop triggers will be re-evaluated based on lessons learned and re-ranking, and this process will occur on the first trading day of October and then monthly.
The company that issues the R91908 fund announced on November 20, 2025, that it will do a 2:1 share split, which means for every share an investor has, they will now have two, effective December 5, and the total value of their shares will remain the same. After this announcement, the prices of the shares were observed to be nearly half of what they were before, with a ratio of 0.4991 to 0.5023, and this was corrected once. When a company does a share split, it does not create any new value or cash flow for the company, it just changes the price of each share. For example, the current price of XLK is $190.55, which is under $250, but it cannot be combined with EEM, which is $67.37, in a $240 fund, however XLE, which is $64.63, can fit. The movement of the price of these funds, known as exchange-traded funds or ETFs, does not necessarily mean that the individual companies within the fund are more valuable. The people who benefit from a share split are small investors who can now buy smaller units of the share, but they do not gain any extra wealth.
This analysis is based on certain premises. The data comes from a source at https://runway.adityaperswal.workers.dev/data/stock-bars?feed=sip&adjustment=all, which provides paired adjusted close returns for the last 1255 observations. The analysis uses a numpy seed of 190908, generates 10,000 paths, and spans 60 sessions with 12 independent uniform 5-day block starts, preserving cross-asset pairing and compounding from queued limits. The initial brackets are fixed and horizontal, with the first close crossing recorded, and it does not account for intraday prices, gaps, costs, ratchets, or live execution. The results show the following: the seed used was 190908, the number of paths generated was 10,000, the number of days was 60, the block size was 5 days, and the sample size was 1255 observations. The terminal dollar quantiles were -13.725602935665727 at the 5th percentile, 6.065331103171697 at the median, and 25.972824647228244 at the 95th percentile. For EEM, 62.26% of the time the stop was hit first, 23.73% of the time the target was hit first, and 14.01% of the time neither was hit. For XLE, 53.83% of the time the stop was hit first, 18.41% of the time the target was hit first, and 27.76% of the time neither was hit. Note that these terminal dollar quantiles are based on mark-to-market values without stops, not the strategy's profit and loss. Also, changes in market conditions or overnight gaps can affect the validity of these results. The frequencies of crossing are not meant to predict actual odds, and no new strategy or sizing is implied. The analysis assumes one share is maintained throughout.
A study of stock market gaps used data from a repaired source, which is a website that provides stock market information. The data covered the period from September 2020 to September 18, 2026, and included 1518 observations. The study used hypothetical one-share entry dollars with weights of 67.37 and 64.63. The results showed a correlation of 0.22817876236373233 between gaps, with the worst joint gap loss being $-4.97832962124513 on April 7, 2025. The study also found that the recent negative correlation is not a reliable way to reduce risk. A previous study that included the 2020 market crash had larger losses, but this study started in September 2020 and did not include the crash, which is why the worst loss was smaller. The study did not provide information on win rate, slippage, or half Kelly, and it was recommended not to make estimates or resize the data.
The automated trading fund manager analyzed data from September 18, using a specific set of rules, known as a Systematic Investment Plan or SIP, which is a method of investing a fixed amount of money at regular intervals. The data included 1519 bars, which are units of time used to measure market activity, and the response-specific splits were repaired per observation 29644.2, which refers to a specific way of adjusting the data. The manager used a ranking system, where assets were ranked above their Simple Moving Average, or SMA, which is a measure of the average price of an asset over a certain period of time. The source of the data is https://runway.adityaperswal.workers.dev/data/stock-bars?feed=sip&adjustment=all. The data included the following columns: symbol, rank, and various return percentages, such as r21%, which refers to the return over 21 days. The data for each asset is as follows: SPY, QQQ, IWM, EFA, EEM, GLD, TLT, XLK, XLC, XLY, XLP, XLV, XLF, XLI, XLB, XLE, XLU, and XLRE. The conclusion is that the EEM index and XLK sector are the top choices, with a total value of 257.92, which is above the fund's threshold of 240. The next choice is XLE, with a value of 64.63. The total return is 132, with a residual of 108, and there is no third slot. The total-return proxy uses vendor data, but the dividend completeness is unverified. There will be no strategy retest due to an explicit fixed mandate.
The automated trading fund manager made a decision based on the following premises: 1. There were 18 full signals to select EEM and XLE, which were budget feasible. 2. A query of trades confirmed that there were 12 pending trades from December 13, with zero open or closed trades. 3. The fund ledger showed that all funds were supplied, with no queues, and the manager's own funds were reserved at 132, which is less than the 240 fund limit, and the per name limit was 67.37/64.63, which is less than the 250 cap. 4. A fresh query of the latest available trades from September 18 showed that the IEX trades were 67.04/64.24, which is within the 0.33/0.39 limits of the Average True Range (ATR), a measure of price volatility. The manager also confirmed that the SIP close was 67.03/64.31, which is also within 1 ATR. The sources of this data are https://runway.adityaperswal.workers.dev/data/stock-bars and https://runway.adityaperswal.workers.dev/data/stock-snapshots?symbols=EEM,XLE&feed=iex. Based on this analysis, the manager decided not to make any orders, cancel any orders, or exit any positions. The manager set the following parameters for EEM and XLE: EEM - Long at 67.37, Short at 65.48, Target at 74.59, with a risk of 1.89 and a reward of 7.22, resulting in a ratio of 3.8201; XLE - Long at 64.63, Short at 62.10, Target at 77.97, with a risk of 2.53 and a reward of 13.34, resulting in a ratio of 5.2727. Both of these positions expire on September 22 at 02:04 UTC, and the 72-hour queue covers Monday. The manager also used a fresh XLE formula with a one-cent vintage gap, and reconciled the actual entry on fill. The manager had 108 unreserved cash because two slots were covered, and there was no cash veto. The manager did not estimate the Kelly criterion because there were zero own closed trades, and the one-share fixed size was used, with optional doubling declined. The validity of the decision follows the mandate, but the soundness is limited by data adjustment, provenance, stale IEX marks, and current context of other books, and should be refreshed before any mutation. The manager did not perform an out-of-sample backtest because the fixed strategy was already validated and explicit do-not-retest, and no new strategy was adopted. The manager stopped the study here because block lengths confirmed uncertainty, and extra resampling would not change the decision. There are still some unknowns, including true exit odds, actual slippage, dividend completeness, and small XLE vintage cause.
The automated trading fund manager has identified potential errors in the R91906 system. The manager observed 29,429 out of 29,468 and 29,470 documents, which revealed five missing splits and a 60-day gain of approximately 0.97. Whole-share orders were already pending within one Average True Range on December 12 and 13. The data source is https://runway.adityaperswal.workers.dev/data/stock-bars?feed=sip&adjustment=all and the issuer source in 29,429. The manager found two potential issues: first, overlapping observations may be mistaken for independent ones, leading to understated uncertainty, which in turn may justify optional doubling, but could increase correlated gap loss and capital shortfall. Second, a hardcoded repair list may miss response changes, leading to biased ranks and targets, canceled valid queues, and missed weekend backstops. The manager notes that brokers or spread recipients may potentially benefit from unnecessary turnover, but there is no measured profit claim. A counterargument is that data revision might change eligibility, so the manager must recompute first, rather than freezing all old signals. The current recomputation retains the same pair and keeps one each, with an exact five-year window, and does not involve event-driven prediction or a new book.
The automated trading fund manager analyzed data from a daily source, https://runway.adityaperswal.workers.dev/data/stock-bars?feed=sip&adjustment=all, which is a website providing stock market data, and considered signals and split repair, a method to adjust data for stock splits. The fund manager looked at the EEM stock, which had a 252-day return of 28.3116% and a close price of 67.03, higher than its Simple Moving Average, a calculation to smooth out price fluctuations, of 62.09155, but its 63-day return was -5.3115%. This shows that a positive annual signal does not always mean the stock will be strong in the near term. The fund manager also examined the XLE stock, which had returns of 1.1482%, 20.4533%, 9.8377%, and 47.3817% over 21, 63, 126, and 252 days, respectively, with a mean return of 19.7052% and a Simple Moving Average of 55.314825, compared to its close price of 64.31. The XLK stock had a higher mean return of 20.0361%, outranking XLE by 0.3309035 percentage points, but its pair budget, a method to allocate funds, failed. The fund manager decided to maintain the Simple Moving Average filter and fixed ranking, and to use a 2ATR, or two times the Average True Range, a measure of price volatility, risk management strategy. The fund manager also chose not to use discretionary 63-day veto or lookback optimization, a method to optimize performance by looking back at past data. This decision was made because long-term trends can suddenly reverse, and a stop, a price level at which to sell a stock, defines an exit trigger but does not guarantee a fill, or execution of the trade. The indicators used are based on the same underlying price and do not provide independent confirmation of each other.
The issuer of the fund announced on November 20, 2025, that there will be a 2:1 split effective December 5, which means the aggregate market value will remain unchanged. According to the announcement on the State Street investor website, all five funds will be split. Currently, the prices of all five funds will halve, as observed in observation 29429. It was reported that XLY and XLB had already been adjusted prior to this response. The constraints on whole shares depend on the share price, but economic wealth does not. The conclusion is that only the confirmed discontinuity per response will be repaired. The current signals, 3468, will use five repairs. This update changes the prior operational assumption, but not the issuer's fundamentals. For example, blindly repairing an already adjusted series would double the historical return, just as missing a repair would depress it. The split does not create any earnings or cash and cannot justify creating a new fund. After the repair, the ranks still select EEM and XLE, and the XLK pair price of 257.92 exceeds the 240 fund by 17.92.
A study was done on the uncertainty of a historical estimator using a Monte Carlo method. The data came from a source at https://runway.adityaperswal.workers.dev/data/stock-bars, which provided stock prices from September 1, 2020, to September 18, 2026. The study used 1255 rolling 60-session gains and a numpy seed of 190906 to generate 3000 replicates for each block length of 20, 60, and 120. The results showed percentile ranges of 2.5-97.5 in percent for two stocks: EEM with block lengths 20 [8.4246, 14.6764], 60 [7.7705, 15.2419], and 120 [7.2695, 14.6641], and XLE with block lengths 20 [16.7909, 24.9857], 60 [14.2856, 26.7455], and 120 [13.1971, 27.1555]. The medians for EEM were 10.7581, 10.8267, and 10.6242, and for XLE were 20.5145, 20.4653, and 20.5145. These results are uncertainty bands for the historical estimator and do not predict future returns or portfolio gains. The study did not consider fees or fills because it did not claim to model execution. The conclusion was that the sizing and accepted queues remained unchanged, and no empirical Kelly criterion was inferred. The planned risk of 4.42 is not a loss bound. This study is different from a prior gap-path diagnostic and is not a repeated strategy backtest. A news scan found the headline was not available, this is a raw script output.
The analysis is based on two premises. First, it uses the same split-normalized SIP series as the signal table, which can be found at https://runway.adityaperswal.workers.dev/data/stock-bars?timeframe=1Day&feed=sip&adjustment=all&start=2020-09-01&end=2026-09-18T23:59:59Z. Second, the 90th percentile of 1255 overlapping 60-session returns from September 20, 2021, to September 18, 2026, is 10.71796% for EEM and 20.62795% for XLE. The autocorrelation of adjacent gains is 0.97286 and 0.97481, which means the 1255 observations are not independent trials. When looking at every 60th endpoint, there are 20-21 observations per phase. The range of the 90th percentile for EEM is 7.5403-14.4586% with a median of 10.1740%, and for XLE it is 12.3929-24.9686% with a median of 19.5529%. The phases are mutually dependent and the range is not a confidence interval. From 2021 to 2023, there were 574 observations, and from 2024 to 2026, there were 681 observations. For EEM, the 90th percentile increased from 6.2663% to 12.1418%, the median increased from -2.8085% to 5.2833%, and the percentage of positive observations increased from 32.9268% to 85.7562%. For XLE, the 90th percentile decreased from 23.0071% to 17.3154%, the median decreased from 7.1487% to 2.6234%, and the percentage of positive observations increased from 63.5889% to 64.3172%. The conclusion is that the historical upside threshold is sensitive to the time period and is not a 90% probability target. There is no claim that the strategy was retested or held out, and the known regimes are descriptive. The data is constrained by survivorship and dividend completeness. A counterexample is that a sustained new regime can shift the next 60-day distribution entirely, so it is recommended to keep a mandated 5-year window and a one-share size rather than optimizing the target to a favorable phase.
The automated trading fund manager has refreshed the signal table for September 18. The premises for this refresh include 1 completed September 18 SIP bar with 1519 each, and an adjustment for all requested data. Five missing issuer-confirmed splits were repaired per 29429.2 index 252 return/sector mean 21/63/126/252, with a filter of SMA 200. The raw ranks include ineligible data. The total of EEM at 67.37 and XLK at 190.55 is 257.92, which is greater than the 240 fund. The next selected fund is XLE at 64.63, with a total of 132.4 pending on December 13. Other funds supplied are flat. The source of this data is https://runway.adityaperswal.workers.dev/data/stock-bars?timeframe=1Day&feed=sip&adjustment=all&start=2020-09-01&end=2026-09-18T23:59:59Z. Each P90 uses 1255 rolling 60 session gains ending in the last 5 calendar years. The table returns percent for each fund, including rank, current price, returns for 21, 63, 126, and 252 days, score, SMA, ATR, and P90. The funds listed are SPY, QQQ, IWM, EFA, EEM, GLD, TLT, XLK, XLC, XLY, XLP, XLV, XLF, XLI, XLB, XLE, XLU, and XLRE. The conclusion is to preserve one of each fund. The XLE P90 is fresh at 20.62795%, giving 77.96 versus a frozen 77.97, which is not a stale trigger. There is no backtest due to an explicit do-not-retest rule.
The R91904 decision is to retain two pending slots and maintain minimum exposure. The decision is based on the following premises: 1. The EEM index and XLE sector are above their Simple Moving Average 200, which is a measure of the average price of a stock over a certain period of time. 2. There are no stop, fill, or monthly re-rank triggers, meaning no orders to buy or sell have been executed, and the rankings of the stocks have not changed. 3. The fund ledger shows no holdings or other queues, and the reserve is less than 240, which is a measure of the fund's available cash. 4. The latest available data from IEX, which is a stock exchange, shows that the distance between the current price and the average true range, which is a measure of volatility, is less than 0.33 and 0.39. The conclusion is to retain the current limits without cancellation, replacement, extra shares, or new fund. The logical validity of the decision is based on fixed rules and premises, but its soundness is limited by the supplied other book ledger and stale weekend trade marks. The quote source is https://runway.adityaperswal.workers.dev/data/stock-bars and https://runway.adityaperswal.workers.dev/data/stock-snapshots?symbols=EEM,XLE&feed=iex. The frozen EEM stop is 65.48 and target is 74.59, with a risk of 1.89 and reward of 7.22, resulting in a ratio of 3.8201. The XLE stop is 62.10 and target is 77.97, with a risk of 2.53 and reward of 13.34, resulting in a ratio of 5.2727. The reasons for the decision include momentum of 28.3116% over 12 months and sector performance of 19.7052% over the same period. The horizon for the decision is 1-3 months. There are no new orders, and the residual cash is 108 because the two queued slots are already covered. There is no backtest, as the explicit published validation done and do-not-retest directive overrides the generic template. The gaps study diagnoses execution and introduces no new signal. Stop research has been done after documented adjustments, and the two return conventions agree qualitatively.
The automated trading fund manager has noted the following facts: the daily Open-High-Low-Close data from the provider excludes extended hours trading, which is also known as trading that happens outside of regular market hours, and this is noted as extendedconditionT (29328); the issuer has confirmed stock splits (29327); and the provider and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, or FINRA, have explained the risks of non-fill and spread, which refers to the difference between the bid and ask prices of a security (29329). These facts can be found in sources such as https://docs.alpaca.markets/us/docs/market-data-faq, https://files.alpaca.markets/disclosures/library/ExtHrsOvernightRisk.pdf, and https://www.finra.org/investors/insights/stop-orders-factors-consider-during-volatile-markets. The manager has identified two consequence chains. The first chain occurs when there is adverse news and liquidity is thin, which means there are not many buyers or sellers in the market, leading to wider spreads and fewer counterparties, which are entities that trade with each other. This can cause stop-triggered marketable limit orders to fill worse or remain pending, resulting in account losses that exceed the planned risk of 4.42% and a decrease in future fund capacity. Whole shares may allow for earlier attempts to improve the situation, but they do not guarantee improvement versus regular trading hours, or RTH. Market makers, who are firms that provide liquidity to a market, may earn a spread, which is the difference between the bid and ask prices, for accepting inventory risk, but there is no measured profit claim. The second chain occurs when a split adjustment is missed, resulting in an artificial 50% gap and a depressed 252-day return, which is a measure of the return of an investment over a 252-day period. This can lead to a wrong rank, distorted Average True Range, or ATR, and Monte Carlo simulations, which are methods used to model and analyze risk, and ultimately result in unnecessary canceling or mis-sizing of trades. It is essential to verify issuer information and repair any errors once, without discarding genuine data from 2020. On the other hand, a rapid recovery after a trigger can make an immediate exit worse than waiting, but a discretionary forecast, which is a forecast based on individual judgment, does not override a fixed stop. The empirical current pair stress of 16.23 versus the planned bracket of 4.42 supports the minimum size, but not a cash veto. The manager notes that the market data and broker disclosure come from the same provider, while the issuer is a distinct corporate action origin, and FINRA provides distinct mechanics guidance. Additionally, repeated search results are not independent observations. The manager does not assert any actual current adverse news or causal price forecast.
The fund manager notes that the issuer of certain shares, including XLK, XLY, XLE, XLU, and XLB, has confirmed a 2:1 share split effective December 5, 2025, which does not change the aggregate market value. The manager's mandate requires whole shares, and the account has a $250 name cap and a $240 fund cap. A recent vendor response omitted adjustments for XLK, XLE, and XLU, but not XLY and XLB, which led to a false 50% loss. Normalizing the economic share count repairs this issue. The 2:1 split halves the minimum purchasable economic exposure, making small whole-share accounts more granular. Currently, XLK at $190.55 fits within the $250 limit, but EEM at $67.37 plus XLK at $190.55 exceeds $240. However, EEM plus XLE at $64.63 fits within the limit, so XLE remains selected. The manager notes that the split event alone cannot determine which vendor series is defective, but the observed price discontinuity and official ratio identify repair candidates. The underlying valuation and earnings are not recomputed because the split does not change them. No new fund or corporate-action-arbitrage edge is inferred.
A news scan found the following diagnostic report: Premises: the analysis looks at the difference between the daily opening and prior closing prices of EEM and XLE, which are types of investment funds, from January 2019 to September 18, 2026, and also considers a pandemic. The analysis uses a technique called Monte Carlo, which is a method of simulating random events, to test the effect of gaps in prices on the fund. The test used 20,000 random paths and 63 gap observations, and the results showed a median maximum combined gap loss of 3.71245, a 95th percentile of 16.16735, and a 99th percentile of 16.23047. This means that 34.035% of the paths had a gap loss greater than 4.42. The analysis does not take into account cumulative profit and loss, strategy validation, live exit odds, forecasts, or the probability of a stopped position surviving to another gap. It also does not consider intranight fills, evolving positions, dividends, cash, spreads, or fees. The source of the data is https://runway.adityaperswal.workers.dev/data/stock-bars with a split adjustment. The analysis preserves the dependence within blocks of events and concentrates on events from 2020. A strong counterargument to the analysis is that it overweights old crises relative to the current regime and ignores beneficial overnight exits. The converse model omits failed limit execution, so the error direction is uncertain. The fund has 0 closed trades, and the empirical Kelly, which is a measure of the optimal fraction of a portfolio to invest, is unidentifiable. The fund has a fixed one-share mandate that governs its size, and the joint 10% and 13.20% account values are 1.32% and 1.623%, respectively. The worst observed gap loss is 16.23%, which is equivalent to 1.623% of the account, and the complete loss is 13.2% of the account's hard cash exposure before fees. There is no doubling or target inflation.
The manager of an automated trading fund made some notes about how often a certain trigger was breached. To calculate this, they took the average true range of a stock's price over 20 days, divided it by the stock's closing price from the day before, and then checked if the next day's opening price was more than 2 times this value below the previous closing price. This was done every day, using the previous day's closing price as a reference point. The manager used prices that had been adjusted for stock splits, which is when a company divides its existing shares into more shares, and got these prices from a website called primary SIP. They also fixed some incorrect prices for the stock XLE from December 2025. The manager looked at data from January 2019 to September 2026 and found that for two stocks, EEM and XLE, the trigger was breached 1.0943% and 0.2084% of the time, respectively. Over a five-year period, the trigger was breached 0.8765% and 0.2390% of the time for the same stocks. The manager also found that the price of these stocks sometimes moved more than 2 times the average true range beyond the trigger point, with the biggest moves being 3.42983% for EEM and 9.83647% for XLE. Additionally, the manager noted that dividend payments, which are payments made by a company to its shareholders, can affect the price of a stock and trigger stops without actually causing a loss of wealth. The manager also mentioned that stop orders, which are orders to buy or sell a stock when it reaches a certain price, do not guarantee that the trade will be executed at that price. A news scan found the headline from the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, which is a non-governmental organization that regulates the securities industry, reminding investors that stop orders are not a guarantee of execution. The manager also referenced a document from a company called Alpaca, which provides information about the risks of trading during extended hours, such as lower liquidity and wider spreads. The manager concluded that it is best to keep track of actual trigger and fill rates, rather than relying on hypothetical rates, and to be aware of the risks involved in trading, such as the possibility of large gaps in price and the risk of not being able to execute a trade at a certain price. For example, if a stock's price gaps 10% from the entry price, the loss could be 13.20% before costs, which is a counterexample to a guaranteed 4.42% risk.
The overnight diversification strategy, known as a way to reduce risk by spreading investments, failed a test of stability over a long period of time. This test was based on three main ideas: first, the difference between the previous day's close and the next day's open is used as a proxy for overnight price changes, not the actual path of prices during the night; second, some missing data for the XLE stock was fixed using information from the issuer; and third, the test compared price gaps due to stock splits with overall economic return gaps. The test used daily stock price data from January 1, 2019, to September 18, 2026, for the EEM and XLE stocks. The results showed a correlation of 0.46018 between the two stocks' price gaps over the entire period, but this correlation was much lower over the most recent period, at -0.40937. There were 28 instances of simultaneous gaps below -2% out of 1938 total gaps. In the 97 instances where EEM had one of its worst 5% gaps, XLE was also negative 68.04% of the time. The worst joint gap was on March 16, 2020, with a scaled exposure of 16.23047. These results support the idea that diversification between these two stocks may not be stable, but they do not predict what will happen in the future. The test has limitations due to the use of daily proxies and potential vendor revisions, but the conclusion is that there should not be an increase in investment size based on diversification, and it does not recommend withdrawing from the current investment strategy.
