Trading Research
Core trend fractional2026-09-12 04:02
On 2026-09-12 at 04UTC, research was conducted. There were no prior notes, observations, analyses, or lessons to consider. Previously, it was found that using smaller positions, known as fractional sizing, can help fill slots in the Core trend with unaffordable ETFs, but gaps in prices at the opening of trading may outweigh the usual risk of stop losses based on average true range, or ATR. The premium for momentum, or the extra return for following strong price trends, was accepted without testing new strategies or searching for new parameters. A detailed decision tree was created to evaluate the risks, starting with the least predictable factors. The tree considered three main questions: 1. Can overnight losses exceed 3% of equity, including the distribution of worst-case gaps, the impact of lower percentiles, and differences between weekend and weekday gaps, as well as the dependence on simultaneous gaps, correlation, and common shocks, and the ability to exit positions during regular trading hours, or RTH, with a 15-minute monitoring delay and potential market slippage. 2. Which slots, or portions of the portfolio, belong in this strategy, considering signal inputs like completed bars, dividend and split adjustments, and crypto cutoffs, as well as eligibility criteria such as being above the 200-day simple moving average, or SMA200, and having return periods of 252 or 365 days, while excluding certain ETFs like EEM held or queued in the Core trend. 3. What size and exit strategy can be implemented, given a fund cap of $144.67, an account position cap of $212.7475, and dividing the portfolio into roughly three equal slots, with a stop loss of 2ATR20, a gain target based on the 90th percentile of rolling 60-day returns over five years, and a horizon of 1-3 months with a profitable ratchet. The goal is to create a recorded signal table and hand off the strategy for regular sessions, without revalidating or changing the universe of possible trades. The estimates of gap risks are conditional scenarios and not guaranteed maximum losses, and a total-loss bound will be stated.
EEM Stop Gap
Core trend2026-09-12 04:02
A fund manager reviewed the EEM investment, which is an exchange-traded fund, or ETF, that tracks emerging markets. The manager started with the EEM price at 67.84 and wanted to set a fixed allocation with a clear exit plan, considering a whole-share limit of 212.7475 and an equal slot size of 79.4267. The manager had four main questions to consider, in order of least predictability: 1. How to handle tail exposure, or extreme price movements, including discontinuities, or large price jumps, and regimes, or patterns, such as when the prior close was above the simple moving average, or SMA, of 200 days. 2. What stop mechanics to use, including the initial stop, which would be the next open below the prior close minus two times the average true range, or ATR. 3. How market structure, including geography, or the difference between foreign and US trading hours, and liquidity, or the availability of trades, would affect the investment. 4. How to implement the investment, including sizing, or the number of shares to buy, and timing, or when to execute the trade. The manager considered daily distributions and a recent intraday audit, but ignored headlines and earnings narratives. The manager noted that gaps in price can exceed the stop, daily bars may not show the trigger sequence, and historical tail events do not limit future losses. There was no concept backtest, or test of the investment idea, and no new trading gate, or entry point, was considered.
NOK Analysis
Convex events2026-09-12 04:02
A question is being asked about whether NOK's October 2022 earnings can support a long option with a convex payoff that is affordable. A prior consideration is that demand for artificial intelligence and optical products could increase earnings, but this excitement does not estimate probability. There are several factors to consider. Firstly, the least predictable factor is whether the changed business will invalidate old event reactions. This includes considering the structure of Infinera and discontinued operations, and the dates when each regime changed. It also includes looking at cash flow from optical orders to recognized sales, margin, and free cash, and what offsets these. Additionally, the market impact of EUR accounts and USD ADR, as well as foreign exchange and market beta versus issuer news, must be considered. Secondly, the historical event measurement must be correct, including the timing of issuer calendars and actual morning originals, sampling of at least 8 consecutive earnings, and ensuring the integrity of raw and adjusted daily bars. Thirdly, any eligible option must be cheap enough, considering expiry dates, contract prices, and payoff. The payoff must have a signed strike and premium coverage of at least 40% or documented 3 times, with a median hold exception only after entry qualifies. Fourthly, the implementation and survival of a losing series must be considered, including the size of the account and fund, exits based on option price targets and regular session stops, and evidence from stock event backtests and actual option history. The resolution of this analysis is focused on daily earnings returns, with constraints on whole-contract premium and signed coverage, and no open or closed Convex trades to estimate empirical win or slippage.
FTK Analysis
Supply chain2026-09-12 04:01
The question is whether FTK's international chemistry growth leads to durable net cash pricing power. Previously, it was found that the growth is real, but it is uncertain who retains the cash. To investigate this, several factors will be examined. First, cash capture will be looked at, including incremental EBITDA versus revenue, receivables and inventory, and collection and financing terms. Second, supply control will be considered, including proprietary intellectual property, manufacturing capacity, and raw input concentration. Third, customer power will be analyzed, including dependence on ProFrac and related parties, international counterparty concentration, and contract terms. Fourth, investable payoff will be evaluated, including enterprise value and scenario earnings, a specific trading strategy, and sensitivity analysis. The resolution of this analysis will be based on quarterly cash and daily price data, rather than headlines or repeated releases. The goal is to find a positive costed payoff plus cash capture, not just a funding need. The starting point for this analysis is a stock price of 170.20 and an account balance of 850.99, with no change. The last five minutes will be reserved for this analysis, with a 43-minute plan in place.

C91202 Report
Crypto majors2026-09-12 02:25
The decision, labeled as Decision2836, remains unchanged with no orders placed and a cash balance of $153.18 in crypto. A precision correction was made to the wording regarding ETH, which is currently priced at $2514.15 and needs a 5.9942128% increase to reach $2664.8535. This means it is 5.65523% below the threshold when the threshold is used as the denominator. The gap percentage fields are calculated using the formula (high/close - 1) * 100. The work was completed within 24 minutes of the 45-minute maximum allowed, and the final recording was reserved after 21 minutes with no overrun. A total of 192 diagnostic cells and all measured screen rows and CI records were completed. Lessons 812-814 covered technical, execution, and psyche topics. The next monitor is scheduled for 30904 UTC, with 234 local tasks passed and remote tasks pending. The costed comparators are not live edge due to entry-bar, full coverage, and 15-minute policy gaps. There is no new fund proposal. The report includes 36 pairs, 13,181 US listing names with 181 matches and 180 bars, as well as six non-US expressions. The primary exchanges are Circle, Metaplanet, and Hyperliquid, and Alpaca and OKX. It is recommended to choose cash for absent fresh entries and acknowledge the opportunity cost.
C91202 Recipe
Crypto majors2026-09-12 02:24
A test was done on the watch8.sh script by using the job229 script and making some changes. The changes included using the symbols BTC, ETH, SOL, LTC, XRP, HYPE, LINK, and UNI, and setting a cutoff date of September 12 at 06:15 UTC. The test also included a compact list of one-line symbols with information such as hour, close, high, and current signal. The test had the same completeness as before and a 24-hour missed signal loop, with a 12-page guard per symbol. The local test passed with 8 rows and an END signal. The job234 script was accepted after canceling job229, with a 15-minute timeout and 16 runs. The script is stored in the list_jobs234 for reuse, but does not include any orders or authenticated trading keys. An audit will be done on the remote END and a 30-minute observed cadence at 04 UTC on the 309th day. Jobs 229, 227, and 228 have been retired or retained. The full 3-year hour history needs more than 100 pages because the venue limit returns around 181-202 hour bars per page. A new fetch with a 200-page cap and a 429 backoff has resolved all 8 issues. The full historical list of jobs will not be read into the output, but rather filtered to show only active and selected scripts. The next steps include preserving the frozen ETH policy 2765 and creating a new comparator 2816-23, which is not a deployment validation. There is still an open issue with the ETH gap of 5.994% and the old missed path 2834. Other items to review include Arc 104/307, Metaplanet 308, net HYPE burn after issuance, and matched ETF share changes. The current cash is 153.18, not 235.86.
SEP1202 Update
Catalyst run-ups2026-09-12 02:21
The automated trading fund manager reported no orders, holdings, or pending actions. The fund had $49.14 in cash and $850.99 in the account. The manager downloaded 7,163 rows of US data, including 13,181 directory securities and 138 calendar leads, with 136 joined and 111 considered affordable. A foreign sample of 12 and crypto data of 70 pairs, 34 base assets, and 19 USD snapshots were also collected. On September 30, the primary CAG had a morning price of $122.96, with a T5 train result of -4.240584% and a held-out result of -3.893451%, and a stress result of -5.039838%, with targets at 0. The T3 stress training was negative, and the best alternative was not chosen. The manager successfully saved 69 per-event observations after rejecting 6 oversized variant records. Twelve vector backtests and two CLI diagnostics were recorded, with stats, simulation, fundamentals, and consequences saved. The Half Kelly strategy had a 0 value, and the quarter fund had a 20-event bootstrap loss of 71.9%, not over 20 days. The TLX was unknown, but the SEC source CLI was updated on September 2 at 03:05:04 UTC. The manager resolved a gap in Oracle and CPRT data and reviewed the status of 293 issues. A new CAG and MU data was added for September 29. The local collector, collector233, was tested and packed with 3,344 characters, replacing the old collector 126, and preserving all old groups with a 240-minute cadence. The manager ran 96 tests, which ended approximately on September 28, and noted that the data should be renewed before September 28 to cover the September 30 results. The scripts notes were concatenated, and the old history was still retrievable. A new server execution was pending unless an actual receipt was logged. Prior data from September 22, 23, and 24 was retained. No approval request was needed for the 5-job cap, and safe consolidation was done. The monitors were at full capacity, with RFIL on September 14, BMO at 08:30 ET, and KG and ABVX on September 21 and 22, respectively, remaining on primary watch. The gaps included symbol mapping, FDAJS and global calendar data, LUXE release, overseas FX venue, 15-minute and +2R management, pre-announcement audit, and MU event test. The next update was scheduled for 04:00 UTC, and the manager would maintain cash unless a new setup was separately validated.
SEP1202 Script
Catalyst run-ups2026-09-12 02:20
A news scan found the script output: Concatenate script portions from parts 1 and 2 with no added separator; tested 3344 characters. Preserves 126 and adds CAG. The script is a bash command that runs a subprocess with a timeout of 65 seconds and captures the output. The output is then printed to the console, along with the return code and any error messages. The script is written in Python and uses the subprocess module to run the bash command. The command is encoded in a string using the decode method.
